Smaragdi Kos Hotel

We had an amazing stay at Smaragdi Kos Hotel! The hotel itself was fantastic, clean, comfortable, and perfectly located. What made it truly special, though, was the warm and friendly service. A special thank you to Olga for the lovely communication and for going above and beyond to help arrange a surprise gift for my girlfriend’s birthday during the vacation. It was such a kind gesture and made the experience unforgettable. All in all, a top-notch hotel with a personal touch. Highly recommended!

Clean and beautiful hotel. Staff are all lovely. Room was cleaned everyday with fresh towels. Every room has a balcony and the swimming pool was very nice. Good variety of breakfast choices. The hotel is on the smaller side which is nice as it is never over crowded and always a space by the pool. The only thing I didn’t like was there is quite a loud club next to the hotel which you can hear from your rooms ( isn’t on every night tho ) and it is a good 25 minute walk into Kos town. But we found electric scooters near to ride in which was much better and quick.

I had such a great week here, I really didn’t want to come home! The hotel is beautiful and is lovely and quiet, a true gem. I was treated amazingly well by all the staff here, I couldn’t have asked for more. In particular, I want to say a special thank you to Olga, Emilia, Anastasios, Stamatis and Antonis - you looked after me so well and I’m so grateful I can’t wait to come back!

We stayed for a week at smaragdi Kos. Beautifully renovations and beautiful gardens and surroundings within the grounds. The pool area was relaxing and clean. We never had to fight for a sunbed and there were sunbeds available all day. We booked for three adults. We were expecting a double and a single in one room but were pleasantly surprised to find ourselves staying in a double room suite - each room having its own terrace/balcony. We were on the bottom floor but this was perfect as it still felt like a balcony/ private space. The rooms were spacious and clean. Cleaners came daily and the air conditioning was perfect and easy to use. There were plenty of plugs and a hairdryer, towels, beach/pool towels, shower gel, coffee facilities and a safe. We are late 20s and quite enjoyed some background music in the evenings from the pool club next door but I can imagine this may be off putting for people wanting to relax. The hotel is around 9 minute walk to lambi beach and 5 minutes from a large supermarket where we were able to get supplies for lunch and store them in the fridge in the room. We were able to hire a car from outside the hotel for €60 for the day which was great to see the island. We were also able to hire a bike from the bike shop 100m down the road for 4€ per day which was great. It is a 30 m walk or 5m bike ride to Kos town. We were used to this after a few days. There are a few local bars on the main road also. This might put others off but perfect for people who like to get some steps in! Staff were helpful and kind. They wend above and beyond. breakfast was small but plentiful, for a small hotel of less than 100 guests there was enough choice each day. Don’t sleep on this place! Great price for a fantastic hub for exploring Kos!

October 2024. First to great points- very clean rooms and fantastic comfortable bed. We stayed here originally back in 2019. Since then, the hotel has been sold and updated. Now it's bed and breakfast hotel, but is that an upgrade from S/C? Based on our experience, no, but why not? Breakfast is a small limited choice of hot and cold buffet. But the hot breakfast is actually cold, cold bacon, cold fried eggs, etc. We were down at 8 am, so first in for breakfast, and still, the hot food was cold. We gave up on the hot food after day 3. The problem is that the food warmer does not produce much heat, so the food goes cold within minutes. This can be easily resolved with better equipment. There is one 2 slot toaster for all guests to use! People queuing for 5 minutes to use the toaster - this is just not good enough. But it can easily be rectified with more units. You receive one small cup of coffee and one half glass of orange juice. We did ask for more coffee, but we should not have to. A coffee machine for people to use is the answer and its standard practice at other 3 star hotels in Greece. A drying unit is needing for the balcony for clothes. Small improvements should make the stay so much better for guests. Apparently, you receive a complimentary free drink on arrival - we got billed for ours!

Great little hotel, from check in to check out, everything was perfect. The room, pool, and bar area were spotlessly clean. All the staff were friendly and helpful . It was a 20 minute walk into Kos town, and about 15 minutes to Lambi beach. Breakfast was good with a selection of cold meats and cheeses or bacon, eggs, etc. The pool area was very quiet so there was no mad rush for sun beds. A perfect base to explore Kos from.
