Falling Lakes Hostel

I enjoyed my stay at Falling Lake hostel. I stayed there five nights. The staff was super helpful in helping me organize kayaking, hikes and the visit to the Plitvice Lakes NP. the hostel is located in the small town of Korenica, there are just enough shops and restaurants for your needs but the city is small enough to be quiet and relaxing. The rooms are spacious and the hostel, clean and tidy.

Good points: One of my favourite stays ever! From the start staff were friendly, helpful and around all the time. The hostel is clean and tidy, no shoes around the building and the cleaning is done regularly and thoroughly. Everyone was super sociable and so friendly. Loads of information about local activities, advice and a shuttle to take you to and from the local main activity (Plitvice National Park). Rooms were very spacious, huge under bed locker to store all items and lock them away, plenty of space in the room. Lights and plugs at the bed. Toilets and showers were spacious, loads of room, clean and tidy. They were individual showers, so loads of space to place items etc. Bad points: The kitchen was pretty messy, not the staff's fault but people weren't cleaning up after themselves. I paid for the hostel to do my laundry, it was quite expensive (80kuna). I didn't get my washing back until over 24hours later and it was still damp. A little frustrating when I was told I would have it back early evening the same day. Showers were very low pressure.

I spent three nights here in order to be close to Plitvice and the surrounding area, and I’m so glad I did. This hostel has great facilities, spacious comfortable dorms, friendly guests and a super helpful staff. The free shuttle to the park is awesome, and their recommended kayak tour is a can’t miss. I wish I’d stayed longer to do the free sunset hike and the big mountain hike but it’s on my list for next time!
