Minus: The hotel is old and has seen better days. The outside and surrounding area is also not appealing. Weak breakfast with limited choices. Windows are not protecting against outside noises Plus: Large and clean rooms Close to city center Friendly employees Not my first choice if going to Koper again.

So far it's the best hotel in Slovenia during my 1 week round trip. Easy check in, all explanation done on perfect English. The staff speak also Deutsch and Italian. I stayed in a "sister" hotel "capodistria". New build,just across the street from Vodisek hotel. Immaculately clean, very modern, code operated door open. Beautiful smell of a soap and shampoo, I would like to by the similar for myself:) Very comfortable mattress and pillows. Abundant breakfast, amazing staff, polite friendly and helpful.I recommend it 100% to everyone!!!

Let me say first and foremost that the staff are very friendly and helpful. The building is a prelude to hell. I stayed 19 July 2023. And spend most of my time during the night sleeping in my rental car with the air con running - until I ran out of fuel. (Figured I will let the air con catch up and simply wait). Front desk closed at 11h00. The temperature set by their remote control is 28 Celsius (82 Fahrenheit). Impossible to stay in the room. I saw this forced minimum on their computer screen. The hallways are much warmer. The hotel is very modern and any window opened turn the air con OFF. It turned out that the cooler night time air could NOT be let into the hallways and stairs. Finally at 04h00 I managed to find a phone number and a lady showed up some 30 minutes later and change the forced minimum temperature, but it was too late. The temperature never came below 80 Fahrenheit. She graciously refunded my money, but needless to say, this night and the next day was ruined. I left shortly after the sun came up as sleeping was impossible. I was informed that "some" European government "somewhere" recommended the temperature. This communist way of waiting for somebody somewhere to think is unacceptable. I cancelled the rest of trip and returned to Houston, Texas. By the way: I am an electrical engineer and the cost of the air con is simple. 1k5 Watts X average European price for electricity X 24 hours is: 1.5 X 28.3 c€/kWh X 24 = €10.18 ASSUMING THE AIR CON RUN FULL BLAST FOR 24 hours. What did I do to alleviate the situation: 1) All the vents were closed deliberately. I opened all. 2) I wet all dirty laundry and put in path of airflow. 3) Downloaded the manual of the air con to see if I am doing something wrong. 4) Took cold showers every hour. 5) Drank 3 liters of water during the night. Conclusion: Treat this hotel as if it has NO air con. Do not stay here during the warmer half of the year. If on business, you will be dead in the water the next day

i came here with my family for a short vacation, staff is really friendly and i like destination because there was a lot shops around, but this was the only thing i really liked. the room wasn't cleand too much and in toilet was smell like pee, at breakfast was some ant and they were on the food to. rooms aren't new and beds are not comftable

When we booked our holiday it was not many options left so we chose hotel Vodisek. The location is excellent and it is only 4-5 minutes away from the train station and the bus station and then to the old town in the opposite direction. The hotel is a bit like a hostel, old and dated, and could do with a renovation. It was like walking in to alpine lodging from the 70s. The staff is polite and nice. The breakfast was simpel but good, with fresh espresso and cappuccino There are 3 supermarkets and a shopping mall very close to the hotel. Internet in the hotel is good. The bed was ok, and the room was clean.
