Mountain Reef Beach Resort

This is our second visit to Koh Tao and our second stay at Mountain Reef Resort. It is excellent just like we remembered it. Their location is excellent on Tanote Bay directly on the beach. The snorkeling in Tanote Bay is excellent. Many fish and healthy coral. Our room was on the 2nd floor. Big exterior deck. Nice comfy king size bed, hot shower, cold AC, fast internet, refrigerator, safe, and plenty of space to store your things. They give you water each day and they supply shampoo and body wash. The restaurant is excellent. Both the breakfast and the dinners are excellent. The menu for both is ala carte and there is plenty to choose from. They have a wide variety of drinks, juice, shakes, water, coffee, tea, and soda. These can be enjoyed all day for a small price. They rent snorkel gest if you don't have your own. I'm sure they serve alcohol. We don't drink. They have an ice cream case with many tasty selections. The staff is excellent. They are so friendly and will do anything to help you. Thank you Kim for your service. They can arrange pickup and drop-off to the pier. They can arrange whole island snorkeling tips for a very reasonable price. We stayed 5 nights. The time flew by. Thank you. We hope to see you again.

Very hilly descent to the hotel but well worth it! Lovely spacious rooms, powerful shower and very kind and friendly staff. Right on the beach, this is an excellent location for snorkelling. The fish are often less than a metre from the shore so great for families too. So many different types of fish of all colours and sizes. Best we saw in Thailand. Hotel food lovely but restaurant lacking a little atmosphere. We are ate at Lai beach bar on the beach for most meals. The overall a great place to stay for the best snorkelling (better than Shark Bay).

We stayed for two nights in a family room with sea-view. It was a light, spacey room with a lovely balcony and a stunning view. The snorkeling from the beach didn't disappoint - lots of colourful fish from the moment we stepped in. The hotel had a restaurant with lovely food, and there were other great options to walk to - everywhere had a nice vibe. All in all, a wonderful, relaxing quiet place which I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others.

Un endroit vraiment magique :) Le snorkeling juste devant la chambre est sublime et la baignade très facile. La plage est vraiment très belle. Les chambres sont propres et bien équipé mais surtout la gentillesse des hôtes est ce qui nous poussera à revenir !! Vraiment au petit soin pour vous. Le restaurant (à peine ré-ouvert lors de notre séjour) est délicieux et il y a à proximité d'autres options pour varié les plaisirs ! Le salon de massage SUR la mer est à coupé le souffle et les talents de Beer la masseuse incomparable :) On avait réserver pour 3 nuits... on est rester une semaine !
