The Plantation Koh Tao

Stayed in two of the apartments for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. Great service, very quick response on all of our questions and requests. The apartments were clean and spacious, and had the greatest view. Quiet area just a few minutes walk away from Sairee town-centre. Beach was also close. Entertainmant-system was good with a lot of movies.

Loved this place. Planned to only stay 2 nights but ended up there for 10 days - I would have stayed longer but they were booked up. Place had the most incredible view and only 5-10mins walk from the town. The place was very modern and the little details made it (example, hard dive with loads of movies, brochure of restaurants to order food). I stayed here alone but I really went to visit again someday with my boyfriend - it was luxurious. Thank you. Only thing I would avoid is renting a scooter from the shuttle bus staff - he conned me out of 300euro for a few scratches on the bike I rented.

We had a booking fully paid for 7 nights at the Plantation Koh Tao, which we were looking forward to. After 10 hours of travelling, we finally reached the place with our luggage and waited by the road. Seeing there was no lobby or anyone around, I started looking for their phone number to find someone to check us in. I called 3 different phone numbers I found online and one finally picked up. 5 minutes later a lady showed up. She then called the owner who arrived 5 minutes later on his scooter. The lady looked quite angry for some reason. We had 2 heavy suitcases to take up to the room, which was quite high up on a really steep slope (like climbing 5 floors or so). The owner took one and the lady asked me to help take the other one up. On our way up carrying the luggage, the lady staff suddenly told us "If you don't like it here, don't come again". I was quite surprised to hear that especially before we even reached the room. Upon arriving in the room, the lady started getting angry at us and shouting at my girlfriend. She told us to "get the f**k out of the hotel". The owner was next to her and trying to intervene while her staff was closed to getting in a physical fight with my girlfriend. The lady staff finally left the room and the owner told us "maybe it's better if you guys leave" and that he would refund us for the booking we fully paid. Given the situation, we left the place immediately carrying our luggage down the hill, managed to find a new last-minute hotel to book for our stay and got a taxi there. This was quite a shocking experience and the first time this happened to me out of the hundreds of hotels I have stayed at before. I recommend absolutely avoiding this place if you want to enjoy your holidays, given the hysteric lady working there. Really bad experience.

We went to Thailand on a sandbox program. After staying 7 days in Phuket we planned to stay another 7 days in Koh Tao. I made bookings 2 months in advance and when I was in Phuket, so one week in advance I realized that there is no way to come from Phuket to Koh Tao. The flights arrive to the nearest island at 14:00, but the 2 boat depart earlier in the day. This means that you need 2 days to get to this island and also stay over night at another island. I contacted the property after I booked and asked how I can get to their location. They did not inform me that there is a scarcity of boats and that it is so difficult to get there. When I tried to cancel it one week in advance they told me to pay 50% of the stay! Of 7 days! I tried to also involve *********** but it was also useless. Very disappointed as it is a lot of money just wasted. And the manager was not willing to negotiate. I offered to pay part of the amount given that it was a hot season and they allegedly had so many people willingly to stay there. I don’t think so because Thailand is closed now. Anyway, I didn’t find it fair that manager did not inform me how difficult it is to get to that island and when I explained them my situation, they were not willingly to meet me in the middle. So I just paid for nothing.
