Mantra Samui Resort, Adult Only

We had a great stay at this hotel in Koh Samui. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and very comfortable. The pool is definitely one of the highlights, with incredible views that make it a perfect place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Overall, it’s an excellent option for staying in Koh Samui, combining beautiful facilities, comfort, and a great atmosphere. We would definitely recommend it and would happily stay here again.

We enjoyed this stay from start to finish. A true 5 star resort and one we would love to visit again They upgraded us from a wow room to one of the top suites, completely free. Which was a lovely way to start our stay. They have free shuttles to the local towns. They have a gym, spa, as well as other activities, (Speciality nights) such as unlimited pizza, thai night etc, free activites for guests to par take in, which is where the only gripe was found. Partner had gone to do a pool activity that she booked to do and the person running it appeared to get all the equipment out and ready but, when the time come, the activity never started or began with no explanation to why. She would've liked some communication to why it never happened in the end. However. Regardless of this, everything was perfect. The staff were amazing. The rooms were clean and lovely. The view was breathtaking. The pool was great. I would love to come again. Thank you for such a warming and memorable stay.

Great accomodations and facilities for your resort needs. Provides free scheduled shuttle bus rides to fisherman village, central Samui and back to hotel 3 times a day. However, location is the weakest part as the resort is located up hill so highly recommend to get your own vehicle or transportation arrangement. Extreme hike down and back to the nearest convenience stores by foot.

Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a quiet and private vacation in Koh Samui. All the staff were very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The breakfast was great, with plenty of choices, and the stunning sea view from the mountain definitely 💯 They also provide a shuttle bus service to the town area, which was very convenient for me. Overall, I had a wonderful and relaxing stay here. TQVM!

Beautiful resort uphill. Beautiful pool and very spacious rooms. The view was amazing from the room, pool and restaurant. Breakfast was nice, not a lot of options but good and manageable. Staff is friendly and kind. You can only reach the resort by vehicle but there is a shuttle service which was very useful! it would be nice if there were more options and not just twice a day for each direction.

This hotel was brilliant! The staff are amazing and always greet you every time you see them! This hotel is located up a hill, which would be a bit dangerous walking up and down (we didn’t do it) so you do need to get a taxi to go into the town or use the hotel shuttle which only runs twice a day. Our room was beautiful and looked out onto the amazing view! The breakfast at this hotel is both à la carte and buffet, which allowed us to do a bit of both and you can order as much as you want! We also enjoyed the grill night at the hotel which was delicious where we enjoyed traditional Thai dishes as well as unlimited grilled meat! Would 100% recommend if you’re looking for a chilled hotel with gorgeous views!

Mantra Koh Samui Adult only was awesome. The place is chill, nice, breezy and people working there was awesome. Friendly and attentive. The morning breakfast is superb. Get that when you're there! Their lunch menu was not disappointing too. They provide massages, with 20% off while I was there. Couple massages possible! Downside was the swimming pool was under renovation so can't comment on that! BUT THE VIEW, WHEEEW! Stunning and breath taking. BUT, to go to the hotel is a hassle as it is up on the hill, we're unable to walk down to the shops or seaside and heavily dependent on their shuttle services or Grab (note that Koh Samui Grab is very competitive with local market therefore they wont identify themselves as Grab (no Grab stickers on their car)). The check in was cosy, the room was a plus! Spacious and aircon/ water heater was stunning! Only downside was the walking up and down the hill to get to the breakfast place (it is a massive leg workout! but you can also wait for their inter shuttle service (which you can flag off when they're using the buggy).

DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU ENJOY SLEEPING WITH BUGS! We booked Mantra for 4 nights and 5 days. On our very first night, we checked in around 9:00 PM and as soon as we turned the lights on in our room, we found bugs everywhere. I have videos to prove it. There were bugs on the pillows, in the bed, on the floor, on the tables, and throughout the room. We called reception, and they simply said they would check if another room was available. There was no apology or reassurance. That immediately made us wonder what would have happened if there hadn’t been another room available. Were we just expected to sleep there? Thankfully, we were moved next door, and the replacement room initially appeared clean. During check-in, we were told there would be a Thai cooking class at 4:30 PM the following day. We planned our entire first full day in Koh Samui around this. The next morning, we even went back to reception specifically to confirm the time. I asked, “The cooking class starts at 4:30 PM, right?” and the receptionist confirmed that it did. We returned to the hotel at 4:15 PM, only to be told by the chef that the class had already finished because it had actually started at 3:00 PM. I explained that reception had confirmed 4:30 PM twice, but all we got was a shrug. One of our holiday days was completely wasted because of incorrect information provided by the hotel. When we returned to our room, we found another infestation. There were lines of bugs across the floor, around the sliding door, and crawling up the curtains. Reception said they would send a “pest control team.” Instead, one staff member arrived, looked at the bugs, then called another staff member carrying an insect spray can and a broom. They sprayed part of the floor, swept away some of the bugs, and left. The bugs on the curtains weren’t even addressed. To make matters worse, every time staff came to inspect the room, they left the sliding door wide open while the lights and air conditioning were on, attracting even more bugs inside. My girlfriend and I were always careful to open the door for as little time as possible because we understood the environment. It was frustrating to see the staff doing the exact opposite. On our third morning, I woke up to find yet another bug, this time a cricket, right beside the bed. I had asked to keep the insect spray from the previous visit, so I ended up dealing with it myself. I have photos and videos of everything described above. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing stay. Between the repeated bug problems, the poor handling of the situation, and the incorrect information that caused us to miss the cooking class, our holiday was negatively affected. I’ve stayed in 2, 3, and 4-star hotels and have never experienced anything like this. For a hotel that advertises itself as a 5-star resort, this was simply unacceptable. I cannot recommend staying here, and I strongly suggest looking elsewhere when visiting Koh Samui.
