Pezula Nature Retreat

Wow, is all i can say. Everything was beautiful and well presented. Staff was very helpful and so friendly, this is a must do on your bucket list

The is lodge is probably the best location in South Africa. It has views of the mountain and sea. The lodge is backed by its friendly and thorough staff. Golfers do yourself a favor and play the course.

On the face of it, this hotel is lovely. We received a good welcome and a free drink and discount vouchers for the spa. Our room had a lovely view and was absolutely huge. Dinner the first evening was ok. Breakfasts were not so good. The cooked breakfast was fine - but the buffet was not kept replenished and when we asked for more of something - it took a long time to appear. The next day the weather was dreadful - but I had a spa treatment that was excellent and lunch was ok. We went back to our room and lit the log fire which was lovely. We suddenly noticed water pouring down the wall and called reception. Maintenance said we had to move rooms. This was arranged. As we were only staying 2 nights we were not particularly happy at having to pack everything up and move - but accepted it had to happen. We were touring for 41/2 weeks so had a great deal of luggage. Our new room was not as lovely as our original room and had not been properly prepared. There was no water or soft drinks and snacks(which were provided free of charge) nor dressing gowns. We had to call for these to be delivered. All of this would have been ok if we had received a single word of apology from the management. Dinner that evening was also problematic. The service was incredibly slow. It took them ages to come out and tell me that the dish I had ordered was unavailable. We waited forever for our main course. The next morning the problems with the buffet persisted - they even ran out of coffee and when my husband asked for more, it took ages for them to bring him out a cup which was so strong he couldn’t drink it, even watered down. There was little cheese and when we asked for more - eventually a tiny selection was brought out on an individual plate - breakfast still had an hour to go! When we checked out, we mentioned that we were surprised not to have received an apology for our room move. And also mentioned about the poor replenishment of the buffet. The receptionist offered to get a manager - but there was no point - we were about to leave. The whole experience was definitely not what we expected from a hotel of this calibre.

As always we enjoyed the stay a lot. Facilities are good, breakfast is good and the friendliness of the staff made everything just better.

This was very beautiful, demure welcoming and staff remembers are all friendly! I enjoyed their breakfast it was very nice and well presented.
