The most welcoming and friendly staff made this a perfect place to stay. Ideally located - a short walk into town or to the river - in stunning Knaresborough with free parking, the hotel was beautiful and our room comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and fresh with plentiful choice, and we enjoyed a free drink in the evening in lieu of room service (a brilliant idea from an environmental viewpoint). The staff bent over backwards to make our stay enjoyable and relaxing, so much so we booked an extra night! Can't wait to visit again soon, thank you.

Great location, great room and bed. had a winter break package which included an evening meal allowance, problem was the top 2 things we wanted on the menu were not available, and the pudding we wanted wasn't available either. we ended up ordering the cheese platter to spend our allowance, but there was any one type of cheese. got the impression they opened up a supermarket mild cheddar, cut it up and gave us that. Not great.

I never complain about hotel rooms for context, just take the good with bad but having stayed in room 310 I complained to the reception about being woke up at 0545 by constant noise in room coming from the restaurant area below (loud conversation/music) the reception lady was very polite and explained the manager would be in at 1030 and would give me ring, (still waiting). Shame really as everything else about the hotel was excellent but when you cant sleep it ruins you whole break (even using ear plugs).

Great all round experience, from friendly staff to ideal accommodation. Proper home away from home feel situated in the very convivial town of Knaresborough with access to scenic countryside and well connected by public transport. Look forward to returning in the future.

We stayed at this lovely hotel for a night. The room was cosy, warm and very clean. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast and evening meal were very tasty . Great location for the river and Mother Shiptons Cave. Also Harrogate and York .

On arrival we had warm welcoming from the young lady who checked us in and directed us to our annex room. Annex room was clean and warm, heating is on a timer. Good modern decoration, comfy bed, clean bathroom. The only problem we had was the cold tap wouldn't work properly, you had fiddle around with it to get into work. Buffet breakfast was nice, plenty to choose from. Breakfast finished at 9:30, and they were clearing it all away dead in 9:30 with no warning so if you wanted more get before. Had a meal in the pub it was nice, I tried the pheasant gougons for the first time and did not like it, it was dry and over cooked. Then tried the venison suet pudding, it was nice but could of done with a bit more meat then veg. Overall was a nice stay and will stay again.

What a place! Absolutely loved it! Had an overnight stay here with three friends one of which was celebrating a special birthday. Two twin rooms with breakfast included. The bedrooms and the rest of the hotel was spotless. Comfy beds and great showers. Towels and bedding all very good quality and everywhere was tastefully decorated. Our first round of drinks were FOC as the barman knew it was my friend’s birthday. Later we were presented with a bottle of Prosecco which was again FOC. All of the staff we dealt with were polite and friendly - even the cleaning and maintenance staff. Of particular note was the Manager who was just brilliant. Great fun and all round super chap! Would I go again? ABSOLUTELY 💯

Found this to be well located for exploring the gem that is Knaresborough old town and can walk to Harrogate with train or bus back. Waterside, castle etc nor far at all and paths avoiding the main road just downhill from the inn. Double room with sofa bed large, comfy, vg bathroom.Breakfast choices good. Bar good. Meal menu could be better but lots of choice in town.
