We stayed at the Kitzhof for a week in March and it was wonderful. The most luxurious skiing holiday we've ever had. The rooms were a good size and simply but stylishly decorated - a nice mix of modern and traditional Austrian. The food was superb, we were on half board through Crystal and every night we had a choice of salad buffet, 2 soups, 4 main courses and 3 desserts. And it was delicious!! The breakfast buffet was everything you could ever dream of eating at breakfast! There was a huge bar and three dining rooms. I thought the drinks were reasonably priced, especially in comparison to other French resorts we'd been to, two drinks was about 8euros and we had some lovely bottles of wine for about 30euros. The only small complaint was that the main formal dining room lacked a bit of atmosphere (the hotel wasn't full) and even a bit of music would have fixed that. Most of the restaurant and bar staff were great and attentive (...the girl on reception maybe not so helpful!). The pool was beautiful but could have been a couple of degrees warmer. It was also missing a jacuzzi. (And a warning to the Brits the sauna is nudist!) The hotel was about 10-15 mins walk from the main ski lift, the Hannakembahn. The hotel offered a free shuttle bus but it was to the fleckambahn lift (which was closed for 2 of the days we were there & It's also very slow to get to the top). We got our skis from Intersport at the main Hannakembahn lift and hired a locker for a week so we didn't have to cart everything back & forth all week, about 40euros between the two of us to hire - and worth every penny! It was also my birthday while we were out there and the hotel arranged a sponge cake to celebrate - yum! Definitely would recommend the Kitzhof and hope we can return soon!!
