Design Hotel Levi

Fantastic hotel , we got the room with the sauna (117) and it was very spacious and super modern. Staff were very friendly and very accommodating and checked us in early. We got a fridge full of complimentary drinks and snacks. We got free access to the water park. Great location for sure near town and ski resort.

We stayed at the Design Hotel Levi for New Year 2024/5. We chose the hotel after extensive research and on the basis that it was the 'best' hotel in Levi. We definitely enjoyed our stay in Levi but the hotel is not 5 star when compared to other hotels around the world that we've stayed in. Firstly, the good bits... It's fairly new and modern, and it's in a great location that's only a few mins walk to the centre of town, front ski slopes and bus to the South Slopes. The Kerkale restaurant was lovely - high quality food and great staff. Onto the negative points... Rooms are very small, very little hanging or storage for clothes. Nowhere to dry clothes, which can be tricky in winter. Very much style over substance as the bathroom was effectively a glass box in the corner of the room - inside was wet room and very impractical. The room we had was supposed to be a family room as our 11 year old daughter was with us and the 3rd bed was just a hard sofa with a very thin topper - it was very uncomfortable and unsuitable for a child of any age. Service at reception was poor. When we first arrived there was confusion about the half board we'd paid for and told to come back later after they had checked it. When we returned the confirmed that they had booked us in for dinner every night at 6pm and that the meal was in the Akhu restaurant, which we were not expecting and very unhappy about - we asked for a later time and a move Kerkale, but told it was fully booked. As it was New Years Eve we had no choice but to go - it turned out that we were in the fine dining restaurant (Kerkale) but it was not full at all - it was half empty at 8.30. So, clearly the reception staff had no clue as to what was happening! Akhu restaurant serves the other hotel in the complex (Levi Spa) and we walked through it to get to Kerkale. It looked similar to a works canteen and felt soulless and grubby. If you're planning on staying, I'd recommend checking where you will eat. Service in general was poor and not what you expect for a 5* hotel - small things like only 2 small bottles of water in the room on the first day (even though there was 3 of us) and never replaced. The Classic Pizza restaurant attached to the hotel could not be booked and when we went one evening around 6.30/7pm we were told it was full and we couldn't even wait for a table as they were too busy with takeaway orders in the kitchen. So, whilst the hotel claims it's a restaurant for guests, we were told we couldn't use it. Levi and the surrounding area is amazing, but this hotel is disappointing and average at best. You can't make up for poor service and average facilities with modern design and artwork!!

This is a 5 star hotel but i would give it a basic 3 stars....however i cannot compare it to any other hotel in Levi so i might be unfair. I had a duplex room which had no actual wardrobe. Just a hanger wrack but not drawers or shelves thus we had live out of our suitcases for 4 nights...

Elegant, modern, clean and with a beautiful desing, this hotel made our stay in Levi more than pleasant. The room (can’t remember the type) was spacious, relaxing and the bed simply amazing. Extra appreciation for the Nespresso machine. The lady from the reception was friendly and helpful, giving us accurate information about the things that can be done around and places to dine. Tasty and variated breakfast.

We stayed at deluxe loft room, and it was perfect for family traveling with kids. Usually, we have sofa bed or spare bed in room or two rooms combined, but this was way better for us. Room was spacious and kids enjoyed their time at their own balcony. Still, they were in our sight all the time. They seem to learn from these review or other guests who has written reviews hasn’t find the right breakfast place. They had special breakfast for our room and it had table service for warm dishes. You should really try asparagus with bacon. It was excellent. Kids loved American pancakes with vanilla. Hotel is well located. Easy access to center of the city, slopes and cross-country skiing. Everything that we want to do in Levi. Overall we loved the place and will come back again next time.

The experience would have been very good if guests had been adherent to rules and regulation to prevent covid. Room was not so big but modern and nice. Bathroom is open on the room through 2 glass doors and it not gives you so much privacy, so think about it if you go with someone you are not so close to… You get free access to all spa area but due to the fact that there were no limitations and many guests were going around without face masks we didn’t try it. I would suggest staff member to impose the use of masks especially at buffet areas…
