The Blue Haven Hotel

Stayed at the Blue Haven as an impromptu overnight stay on our way home from Cork to Kells. The room price was very reasonable, the rooms were clean and I had the best sleep in a hotel I've ever had. The pillows were amazing. The Beatles Festival was on this weekend and we loved seeing Beatles paintings up in the hotel. The restaurant was amazing and service was great. But was lovely to find delicious gluten free meals as starters, main course and desert and everything on offer was well prepared and delicious. We had an amazing overnight stay and will definitely be back. Kinsale is absolutely beautiful and my favourite place, and this hotel really is an incredible find.

The photos on their website and the descriptions of their rooms reach the level of fraudulent. For example, here is their description of their Superior King: "Our Superior King room at the Blue Haven is just that – superior in every way. The elegance, simplicity, and style of the décor continue throughout and that feeling of luxury is achieved by the extra space and comforts of this delightful room". I booked and paid for a Superior King and it was so small there was no space to open the suitcases. The furniture was terrible, there were holes in the ceiling where they had moved a fixture years ago and never repaired.The room was small and shabby in every aspect. When I spoke to the manager his response was that they were full so he couldn't give me another room and he did not have the authority to adjust the price. Buyer beware!

The Blue Have is a cozy hotel with friendly staff and excellent food. It is located in the center of Kinsale and the music in the evening was very enjoyable. Ideal for couples looking for a relaxing or romantic getaway. Plenty of places to visit in the area such as the Old Head of Kinsale and Timoleague.

Lovely hotel, perfectly situated, room were excellent, staff welcoming and helpful, food was delicious and cooked to perfection, would definitely go again (and will soon), the bistro (once again excellent). weather could of been better but that is no fault of the hotel

Spent 2 fantastic nights here, everyone was so friendly from the front desk to the bar staff and the room staff, would definitely recommend it to anyone who is travelling to West Cork. When we arrived we were greeted by very polite and friendly staff,

Friendly and accomodating staff, from the receptionist, to the manager Ms. Jude😉 suprise us with the delicious cake and warm card. Neat and tidy room also. Thank you for the experience. Until next time of our visit. Delighted to all of you.
