Grand Legacy Hotel

I had an exciting time at the hotel. The food was delicious, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. During my two-week stay, the environment was serene, neat, and comfortable. I will recommend Grand Legacy to anyone traveling to Kigali.

Best Hotel service. I highly recommend to everyone visiting Rwanda for the first time. I had a very warm reception and I felt home away from home. I will definitely visit again inshallar. The gym and pool amazing their food buffet was very delicious .

My colleagues and I have stayed at this hotel for at least 8 years. I just got done with a stay here in January. By the time the week was over, I had so many notes about what is wrong with the hotel that it overwhelmed me. I was going to write a long detailed review, however, after being home now for 10 days, and leaving for another long trip in 2 weeks, I find that I just do not have the time. I have travelled to over 50 countries for the past 40 years on a regular basis. I have stayed in the best and the worst. But I don't think I have spent this much money for this level of bad hotel in my life. This hotel should be about $50 a night, not triple that. The customer service at the hotel has gone downhill in the past 4 years or so. Personally, I think it corresponds to when the owner of the hotel turned over the management to his son. The only reason I keep staying here is because it is the only real hotel on over near the airport. It is my only option. I have to be over on the east side of the city. All the actual good hotels are in center city. But I can't stay there, because the traffic is so bad that it would take me too long to get back and forth in the morning and evening. Unless this hotel spends some money and upgrades their facilities, they will be out of business in a few years. The place is filthy. They don't appear to spend any money on maintenance. The only way something gets changed or fixed is if you beg them to do something and even then it may take days to do it. The only reason to stay at this hotel is if you need to be on this side of the city. Otherwise, you should avoid the Legacy.....which will have no "legacy" to leave behind when it goes out of business soon. I'm sorry to leave such a bad review. But I have spent hundreds of nights in this hotel in the past 8 years, and it just keeps getting worse. If someone in the hotel is reading this...you need to spend money to deep clean the hotel. You need to spend money on training your housekeeping staff. Get someone in from the outside who really knows what they are doing to train the staff in how to maintain the facilities. The only thing housekeeping knows how to do is change the sheets and towels, and make a nice design with the bed runner. Legacy..you are in trouble. Invest some money in the hotel now.

The amenities are very comfortable and the hotel management make the experience excellent. The rooms are modern and the lobby, restaurant and poolside are all excellent places to relax or get work done. Highly recommend the Grand Legacy in Kigali!

The staff and management made my stay incredibly comfortable. They welcomed me like family. The property is very clean and well furnished with all modern conveniences. The pool area is a great place to spend an afternoon after a full day of travel and the spa was able to fit me in for a massage on a moments notice. Didier Byuka, the evening property manager, took time to make sure that I felt well cared for and had everything I could want or need as a solo traveller in Rwanda for the first time.
