We spent two nights at this hotel as a family of 6, with two suites. The hotel is boutique, beautiful and pleasant to stay at. The food was good, the bar staff was nice and the prices were reasonable. Modern, clean and simply pretty. A couple of notes though on why I left a 2-star review, is the staff. As you walk around the hotel, the staff looks the other way, ignores your presence and it feels almost bizarre as you stay at their property, and greet the staff and it's one way. Almost like they are annoyed you are there. This was not an isolated incident but a theme of the weekend. To further show how poor the staff is, I left my credit card at the pool bar by accident and checked out, went home (in Florida). I spoke with the pool bar and they were so nice about it, they had the card and brought it to the front desk who they said, would mail it to me. Great! Until I spoke with the "second off" manager, her name is Lee D. When asked if the card would be mailed, she told me no, that this hotel does not offer that type of service. I asked as a human gesture for losing a credit card, would you drop it in an envelope and stamp for me? She spoke over me, again and again, repeating herself that the hotel does not offer this service. Then said to me "Do you expect me to take an uber downtown to mail this for you? You can mail me a fed ex pre paid envelope and we will send it." I do not expect anything of anyone, however, mail is delivered in the united states daily. A stamp that costs less than a dollar to help a guest out, is just bizarre customer service, as we just spent over $5,000 at the hotel over two days. We were definitely going back as we love Opal, however, now we will not be going back. Something so simple and easy for the hotel, ruins an experience that will cost them future business. Disappointed.
