Stayed in the Berrynarbor Lodge for 4 nights in November amid thunder, wind and rain but thankfully dry during the day. What a lovely, friendly place Kentisbury Grange is - the restaurant/bar is very welcoming - we had drinks there two nights and a wonderful meal, on another. The walk up in the dark is interesting with three or four owls screeching in competition. The lodge was beautifully situated on the lake with ducks and other birds including robin that came to visit each morning. Absolutely delightful. Parking just down the end of the path (some lodges have parking right outside). The lodge was well set up for our dog with throws over the sofas and even a dog bed supplied! The kitchen was very well equipped, gas central heating working well as it was chilly outside, the bathrooms were clean as were the bedrooms with a comfortable king side bed. Someone commented on the TV which was not a “smart” - this was not the end of the world although we do prefer watching some of the alternatives like Netflix and YouTube but “Freeview” was more than tolerable for 4 days. There were signs of wear and tear through the lodge, particularly the floor near the bifold doors, but for what we wanted, the lodge and the facilities at The Grange were perfect. There is plenty to do in the area even in November - our little dog loved Woolacombe beach and Saunton Sands and we also found a brilliant pub in Georgeham - The Rock. We will definitely return!
