Yachtsman Lodge & Marina

Would highly recommend this little gem of a hotel. With a broken foot, it was highly convenient since everything is on one level. We had Room 16 which was conveniently located close to the breakfast buffet in the morning. Our room overlooked the Marina and there is a screened sliding glass door so we could have fresh Maine air. The decor was a delight! Highly recommend!

We were pleasantly surprised by this property. From the outside, it is somewhat unimpressive. The rooms beg to differ. We found it to be stylish & comfortable. The decor was fun and colorful, fitting for it's port location. The bathroom was very nice with a good shower and plenty of counter space. The bed and pillows were comfortable and we appreciated the electric fireplace as well as the Adirondak chairs outside our slider. The evening view of sunset on the river was beautiful. It is in close proximity to dock square, easy walking distance if you are physically fit. It think it's about a 1/4 mile down the road, an easy walk for us despite the fact that we are will into our senior years lol. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a serene stay in the Kennebunkport area.

We stayed for 3 nights in October. Just left and driving home with wonderful memories. From the onset (reservations) the staff was so friendly and hospitable. The rooms were completely renovated (bc of a King Tide) early this year. The rooms were cozy, clean and sparkling. View from each room onto the marina was relaxing. Continental breakfast was as expected but perhaps a bit more fruit would have been appreciated. Location within a 5 minute walk to the village was a major plus. Will return again!

The Yachtsman was perfect for our short getaway to southern Maine and definitely the best dog-friendly option south of Cape Elizabeth. The hotel is actually what I think most people would call a motel - a single story building with doors opening onto the parking lot, which we found to be very convenient. The rooms aren't super spacious, but they are roomy enough, the bed is reasonably comfortable, and the bathrooms are very well appointed. The best part of the room is actually the outdoor patio and private lawn area overlooking the cove. We sat in the comfy adirondack chairs for hours watching the shore birds and boats as the tide came in and out. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful and the only negative of the whole stay is the truly awful continental breakfast, which looked like it all came from Costco.

I usually write reviews that are positive but I am compelled to let people know about this experience due to the lack of service and management follow up, which is very surprising for the caliber of other Kennebunkport Resort Collection hotels, and could very well ruin a future guest stay. We made a last minute reservation for the night of 11/14/23 and were pleasantly surprised by the room, the location and the view. Unfortunately it all went downhill after that. After 4 pm there is no personnel at the resort until breakfast at 8:00 am the next morning and if complications arise you are to call or text a phone number to get assistance. During the night, our toilet suddenly stopped working and we were unable to flush, so looking for someone to fix this matter and waiting until 8am was most definitely problematic. No one was onsite! We were eventually offered the use of a bathroom in a different room after I pleaded the urgency of using a bathroom after waiting for so many hours! The young woman, the only staff on site, later said she had talked to her manager and wanted to offer us another free night to make up for the inconvenience of not having a bathroom and the resulting sub par experience. She said the manager would be contacting us before the end of the day. When the guest services manager Annastacia Opasinki did, her "free night" offer was coming back and paying the same price we had paid for the room. Which incidentally there are lower rates to be found online. This was a very disappointing experience and I would definitely consider staying at a fully staffed elsewhere before booking here again.
