Premier Inn Kendal Central

The room was clean but there was a pool of water on the bathroom floor. We dried it up and put it down to a cleaner forgetting to dry mop. Next morning we found another puddle and moved the bin to see a leak and mould. Another issue was the bar and restaurant were closed at night and we weren't warned in advance. In fact I was sent an email the day before advertising their meals.I feel that whilst the hotel is in a good location, its standards are dropping.

A very comfortable bed if you’re looking for good food don’t go there go somewhere else if you’d like to fish and chips. The batter is very greasy probably undercooked my son didn’t eat it waste of money breakfast very poor It looked like he’d been sat out too long and when you asked, have you got this or that We’ve got the same reply. Sorry we run out of that The bath wasn’t clean on the sink still had leftovers where somebody had been shaving

I stayed at the Premier Inn for about three weeks as part of a solo trip, and overall, I had a very pleasant experience. During this time, I stayed in a few different rooms, so I feel confident sharing a detailed review. Rooms & Comfort: The beds and mattresses are extremely comfortable — a definite highlight of my stay. The rooms are spacious. I would rate cleanliness 4,5/5, as I did notice some spiderwebs in the corners of the bedrooms in each room I stayed in. Staff & Service: The staff were fantastic — very friendly and always helpful. I would give the team a solid 5/5. Special mention goes to the lovely lady at breakfast, whose kindness and attentiveness deserve a 10/10. The dinner staff were also very warm and welcoming. Room 101: I particularly enjoyed my last room, number 101. It had a lovely view, and the bathroom was accessible and included a bath — another 10/10 experience. Areas for Improvement: There are two things that could be improved: Wi-Fi: In some areas of the hotel, especially room 10, there was no internet connection at all. This was quite frustrating at times, so I would kindly suggest reviewing the Wi-Fi coverage throughout the property. Dinner Menu: As a small suggestion, please consider adding mashed potatoes to the dinner menu. At the moment, the only available side options are skin-on chips and rice. Variety would definitely be appreciated! Food & Drinks: The food was generally very good. I especially enjoyed the burgers — the new Katsu burger is one of the best I’ve had. Desserts were ok; my favourite was the Banoffee cheesecake. Final Thoughts: All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would happily recommend Premier Inn to others. Thank you for the hospitality!

We had an overnight stay at this hotel last week and booked a premier inn because we felt we knew what standard to expect. We were wrong. We paid £130 for the room plus £22 for breakfast plus £7 for parking. The room was up two flights of stairs with no obvious lift. It was clean, however, the window did not open in the room, there was no information about breakfast times, Wi Fi etc. There was one towel for a double room. The toilet seat was broken and did not actually fit the toilet. There was one flat , rock hard pillow each with no spares. We planned to have an early drink in the bar attached to the hotel (The Wakefield Arms), but were told it did not open till 6pm. We were later to find out that they don’t actually sell draught beer anyway, it’s all bottled beer. The breakfast left a lot to be desired, the eggs were like rubber and the black pudding tasted awful. The surroundings were very shabby and in need of some attention. There was a bucket in the bar to catch a leak from the ceiling. The only good thing about the hotel is its central location in the town, but the rest was a complete disappointment. (Room 204). Despite everything the staff we met were all pleasant and friendly We didn’t mention any of our gripes to them because we feel they are already suffering due to lack of investment in this potentially lovely hotel.

Dirty, dated, smelly staff and not safe. The rooms weren't very clean but the restaurant was filthy. Chairs were broken or covered in food and the wonky tables were fixed by old, dirty pieces of paper. The floor was super sticky too. A staff member in the restaurant needs a shower desperately, leaving over guests to clear plates smelling like that is not okay. Whilst waiting for tea near the restaurant loo's.....Fire door had self closer removed and was propped open, fire route through restaurant blocked to stop people entering, however it blocks all egress for those who use the lift because they cannot use the stairs. Another fire door has a gap way too big. Fire signage are upside down too. Leaving metal tongs on a hot plate? In a family friendly hotel? Are you waiting for a claim? We won't be returning and after staying at many premier inn's this one was by far the worst.

We have stayed here before and found it really good. However this stay was the opposite. The bar attached now has no draught beer, cider, lager. Nothing. It's overpriced bottles only. No atmosphere at all. The new windows let in so much noise - almost pointless having them. The air con stays at a constant 19-22 - no way of dropping the temperature so the room is a sauna. We asked for our room to be serviced after day two of the trip - it wasn't done. All in all - whilst the location is excellent - the Premier Inn is no longer what is once was.
