We had a great week at the Doubletree the first week of July - 2 adults and 15 & 18yr old boys. The public areas of the hotel are lovely - comfy seating areas and everything is very clean and tidy. The bedrooms are a great size and the beds were super comfortable. We had a pool & sea view which I'd definitely recommend paying the extra for. We sat on the pier as it was quieter than the pool and we all enjoyed jumping off and swimming out to the pontoon. Some staff were great - special thanks to the people working in the coffee shops who were friendly and provided quick service and to the roller blading waiters who brought drinks and snacks to the pier. However, we found a lot of the staff to be pretty grumpy and unhelpful.... the barman in the George in particular and the bar staff at the Ibiza bar.... an occasional smile would have been nice and more staff at busy times so that you're not waiting for 10 minutes while they're making cocktails The food in the restaurant & food trucks was pretty good, lots of choice and never too busy. I did have a couple of gripes about dining however.... * There were lots of staff around clearing tables which was great, but it did make it difficult trying to get served a drink. We helped ourself to a bottle of wine from the fridge but this was taken away from us so we couldn't get a refill! *While there is allergen information for much of the buffet dishes, there's nothing to indicate whether the food is vegetarian or vegan. There were lots of mystery dishes which looked like they could be veggie, but equally they could have contained meat or fish..... I occasionally asked staff but they had to go and find someone from the kitchen and when there are literally 00s of dishes on display, this isn't very practical. Likewise for desserts.... these looked delicious but I think most were made with gelatine. It would be great if this could be indicated so you know what you're eating Otherwise, a great week in a lovely hotel!
