Moorlodge Country Retreat

This is now residential apartments. It's very quiet and peaceful. The apartments haven't been updated since they were renovated 10 years ago and as such they are quite dated. The landlord provides gas and water (which is pricier than usual) as there's no main's connection. Quite a trek to put your bin out. The cafe and furniture store are gone. A handful of children live on the property but it's mostly adults (and dogs) but you won't be kept up by barking. The smoke detectors drive everyone mad about 6pm there's a chorus of them (as they're super sensitive). In the snow it's pretty much impossible to access; two Lawes Road is closed / impossible to traverse. The grounds are well maintained (grass cut, free from litter, daffodils flowering this time of year). There's a pond in need of some TLC & a few babbling streams that add to the ambiance. BT WiFi is available and is really decent (surprisingly). The thick stone walls make phone signal challenging (but if you can enable wifi calling then that's a work around). Personally, I love it but at £600 per month for 1 bedroom, a tiny kitchen and a windowless bathroom, it's not for everyone.
