Rosyth Estate House

Rosyth Estate House was a tranquil and unique stay during our honeymoon in Sri Lanka. It felt like a home from home and we were greeted upon arrival with a refreshing drink and a relaxing foot massage. Staff were very attentive and we really enjoyed our morning yoga with incredible views. A stand out experience was the cooking class where we learned how to prepare several Sri Lankan dishes and got a tour of the gardens where the fresh ingredients are grown. Chef Dimesh was fantastic, knowledgable, friendly and fun. We also thoroughly enjoyed each of our meals. You are given a variety of dishes with different Sri Lankan curries to try at dinner time and we enjoyed sharing this tasting experience together. We also were shown the impressive tea factory where the tea ladies hand pick and pack the tea leaves. Brian really impressed us with his knowledge and we learned a lot around the science of the tea making. Overall we had an incredibly relaxing time, enjoyed lovely cocktails and delicious food.

Our family of 5 arrived at this beautiful place last week and were warmly greeted by the staff with tea, Ice lollies for the kids and cool towels. Our tea room was perfect for us all to stay and had a wonderful view from the balcony. The food is fantastic & having a kids menu was a bonus! Staying out of the way, i was a little unsure, but my kids we met by Lucky, who took them walks around the gardens, engaged with them and made their time memorable. We took the estate walk, the kids walked for 2 hrs and loved it! We also done a cooking class which was great and lovely to learn about Sri Lankan cooking. Yoga with a beautiful view. We stayed for 3 nights and were sad to leave. We had an exceptional time! Thank you

We had a very warm welcome to our first stop in Sri Lanka nice cool flannels and a pleasant drink while we covered formalities. A tour of the property followed showing us our room and all the facilities. The room was lovely and spacious with an extremely comfortable bed plenty of hanging space and beautifully clean. The shower and bathroom nicely appointed and very clean. The odd power outage added to the fun of the place they seemed to be short and not too much bother. We did wonder why the torch was pointed out on our tour of the room, although we never actually used it. Mr G Sylvester was most attentive and looked after us during our stay whenever we went to eat or looking for a drink he would be nearby but in an unobtrusive way. All the staff looked after us equally well but Mr Sylvester deserves special praise. The cooking morning was fun and the best bit was eating the result. The tea tour was very informative and interesting. The food could not be faulted plentiful and extremely tasty. The guide showed us a round walk on the first day and we followed that on other days. The wild life especially monkeys are abundant and the greenery lovely.
