Ipsos di Mare

Hotel is lovely, can’t fault the room, restaurant and pool area. We had the breakfast buffet included in our stay which was amazing and had plenty of choice. We paid to have the dinner buffet one evening which we got at a discounted price due to staying in the hotel, that was also amazing, lots to choice from, fish, meat, pasta, salads etc. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Location perfect, right on the ipsos strip opposite the beach. Only bad point is the lack of security/hotel staff presence on an evening, on our last night we were kept up all night until the early hours due to other young guests (staying in multiple rooms around our room) partying, this included shouting, screaming, slamming doors, loud bangs, moving furniture, throwing objects around, going up and down the different hotel rooms, basically running riot and no staff around to witness this or have words with them. Overall great hotel and will definitely stay again. (Also loved all the cats in the hotel grounds)

Great location, just cross the road, and you are on the beach. The staff was welcoming and friendly. All needed information was provided.I could leave my bag for the view hours. Tasty breakfast, good choice buffet. I booked the room with the double bed, but got the room with 2 singles, very small beds. Very outdated furniture, scratches everywhere. A very hard mattress.. Breakfast starts only at 8 am, I wish they could open earlier. There was very loud music in the breakfast hall, absolutely not needed. I wanted to have lunch in the restaurant, but I changed my mind cause of loud music, not relaxing at all.

On arrival the room smelt of raw sewage, no cups glasses to drink from, fridge was from old and worn out like the room, changed room a few days later to a little better, toilet needed attention shower leaked all over bathroom floor cracks in the walls dried paint on the floor, food was ok for breakfast, dinner wasn’t, cold food not a lot to choose from, I asked what something was and I got a blunt reply of (chicken) wish I’d took a picture, we ate out every night after the first nights experience, fruit was either an apple or orange, then to top it off had to depart room at 11am not being picked up by jet2 till 6pm, so was told no rooms to shower in (they don’t do that) so had to shower at the pool area and get ready for home around the pool, as you can imagine was not nice, pool area was nice but needed a little tender loving care (weeds growing in between tiles, broken tiles could have been dangerous)

I didn’t expect much from the 2* hotel with bad reviews, but the hotel promised two of my requirements- a beautiful sea view and an adult-only hotel. Unfortunately, it failed in both. The sea view is not as advertised- maybe on the second floor, but on the first floor, all you can see from the balcony is the top of the restaurant roof. I could live with that, but once we went to the swimming pool on the third day of our stay, a family showed up with their maybe 6-7-year-old daughter, jumping and shouting all the time/ the mom was even louder than the girl/. The hotel didn't have water twice for a couple of hours so we took a shower at the beach, and once there was kind of an electricity outage so the air-conditioning and refrigerator didn't work in the afternoon and evening. The double bed was not a double bed, it was about 120 or 130cm wide, and such trouble for two grown-ups to sleep on. The mattress was with springs and was super bouncy, not comfortable at all. There are no hangers for shower towels and no place to dry beach towels on the balcony. The shower curtain is a nightmare, sticking on your back all the time during showering. Only once during breakfast, I ordered two 0.2 bottles of Prosecco in the hotel bar, and the price was 20e, and in all bars around the hotel, it is half-price. The hotel is very dated but very clean. What makes it special are the people working there. Every single one was super polite. The two young ladies working on the reception desk were so helpful. The room was well-cleaned every day and we got clean towels each time! The restaurant is renovated, breakfast was more than OK- repetitive, but you cannot expect more than they offer. The dinner didn't offer many vegetarian options, so we had salads and some potatoes a couple of times, and the rest of the nights, we had dinner in some of the local and the old town restaurants. Anyway, whatever we had was so tasty! The location is great. The air-conditioning is old but worked well, and a huge plus is that an outdoor unit is not on the balcony, so there is no noise. I was surprised by the room isolation- no sounds from the rooms around, we only heard some laughing a couple of times when someone passed by late at night by the room door. Altogether, the hotel is more than worth the money you for it. If the balcony was better and if there were no children, I would score it with four or five stars!

Just got home from Ipsos Di Mare. Looking at some people's reviews had me worried before we arrived. I can confirm they are all rubbish in my opinion. We had a lovely stay, the staff were amazing, attentive and friendly, the food certainly was not cold. The receptionists were lovely, the cleaners very friendly and hard working, the bar staff are legends. If you expect a 5 star hotel then pay for a 5 star hotel. The pool area was great, the location of the hotel right on the beach. We loved the cheeky cats that hang around the front. Some bits need a bit of redecorating but it didn't affect our stay. We would love to come back.

Lovely clean and well presented hotel,maid service every day.Lovely sea view(at extra cost) The half board food is standard Greek with a few odd bits thrown in but also basic hand made pizza at dinner. Bad points for us were no supervision around the hotel/pool resulting in a hoard of German teenagers on an organised tour. Drinking and doing ***** in and around the pool,not great! You don’t expect to be parenting teenagers playing with glass bottles in the pool!! The rooms were clean but dated which we find normally in corfu.
