Grand Tamarind Lake

We are frequent visitors to Kataragama and have stayed in another hotel before. Even though the same hotel was available, decided to try another. Clean and spacious room with a comfortable beds. Amazing view from the balcony. Due to our tight shedule , didn’t get a chance to use the pool. Certainly an inviting pool. Nicely kept gardens around the area. Breakfast was not great . Limited variety due to off season. Less than 10 minutes drive to Kiri Wehera and Kataragama Devalaya. In future, this will be our hotel in Kataragama.

I travelled with my family from India.Property is good.Lake view from the property is very good.Rooms are spacious only problem was there low Internet connectivity and speed is also very slow.Plus very few options for vegetarians.Staff is very cooperative.Regarding cleanliness it is not up to the level of 5 star hotel.I can rate this hotel 4 star.This property have lot of monkeys u need to be careful of your belongings.

My stay at Grand Tamarind Lake was truly wonderful! The rooms were extremely spacious and the views out over the lake were beautiful. The staff were so friendly all throughout the hotel, always going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The food was amazing as well! I will definitely be back to Grand Tamarind Lake!!

Excellent hotel in an exceptional location. An ideal location for cultural sightseeing as well as nature rich excursions (Kataragama Temple and Yala National park) All the staff especially the front of house and kitchen staff were amazing as well. 10/10 would recommend

We have been always staying at another hotel in Kataragama and as it was fully occupied during the time we wanted to visit, we decided to try out Grand Tamarind lake. What an amazing experience it was and we absolutely loved our stay . The rooms were very comfortable and the best part was that they had this amazing view of the lake. The early mornings were a bird lovers paradise while sipping one’s morning coffee. However the hotels greatest asset are their staff who went out of their way to make our stay unforgettable. From the front office manager Dhammika and to all the ladies at Reception, Lakshitha at the restaurant and the sous chef did everything possible to make us feel very welcome and comfortable . We were vegetarian during our stay and they made sure we had a huge spread of options everyday . All staff at housekeeping made our stay exceptionally comfortable and went into all lengths to provide us with all what we needed and more . They ensured all our laundry was ready within hours of giving them and went into all lengths for our comfort . Thank you for a lovely stay and we are sure to return and they will be our regular hotel in Kataragama.

Yala is a sought after destination for wild life lovers. Hotel Grand Tamarind is located at a quiet and lush green area. To add to the peaceful location, the Hotel has good amenities kije parking, restaurant a clean swimming pool, and importantly a very courteous staff.
