Kilindi Zanzibar

Our butler, Frank was amazing! Always available for anything we wanted and even things we didn’t know we wanted! Food was 4.5* clean, fresh and tasty. All of the staff was very warm and friendly. The bed was firm and comfortable. The villa was kept very clean by daily service. Very much enjoyed!

This is the most beautiful resort you can imagine with spectacular villas and I agree with all the praise from other reviewers. Thank you Chef for fabulous food, Doris for a wonderful cooking class, and Frank for exceptional butler service. Despite all the wonderful aspects of this resort, it is definitely not perfect. For example, the wooden blinds in our room were broken when we arrived and not repaired, there are lights out on the path that aren’t replaced, our swim towels in our room were not replaced, and the bar fridge was never restocked. They had ongoing power failures during our stay and we would be woken in the night by the electronic chime when the power went off and went back on. This resort, although secluded, is very noisy. The fishermen are out very early and make a loud noise shouting to one another from 4am. Also the drilling and banging during the day as they work on their boats is annoying. The ocean is gorgeous, but during low tide you see all the trash which the fishermen have thrown out and it makes the thought of swimming in the beautiful ocean very unappealing and perhaps dangerous. We chose the pools over the ocean although we love the ocean. Overall we appreciated the beauty of the resort but wish it was better maintained and quieter.

This place is a rare gem. The staff are amazing. The food is out of this world. We had Witness as our butler and she went above and beyond to make sure we’re comfortable. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you for making our experience truly one of a kind!

We went to Kilindi for our honeymoon and it was amazing! The food, service and property can not be beat. We didn’t want to leave! Juliet was amazing and made us feel so special! Mussa did a great job servicing our villa every morning! I can’t recommend this property enough.

We stayed at Kilindi Zanzibar for our honeymoon and are sad to be travelling home today. The staff here are amazing - so helpful, attentive and have high quality hospitality etiquette. The pavilions are beautiful and so well maintained - we had a garden view and it was like our own secret hideaway. And the 24/7 host service meant that we could stay in our own bubble some days, or venture down to the bar/restaurant/pool if we fancied a change of scenery. Some info about the all inclusive - they have a good range of all inclusive cocktails (pina colada, tequila sunrise, mojito) which are all made with fresh fruit and ingredients, and they offer some premium cocktails too at a cost, but we didn’t feel the need to explore these as there’s a good variety included. There were 2-4 different red and white wines available, all nice grapes and mostly South African. The spirits list offered 1 of each spirit included (e.g. a Gordon’s dry gin) with the option to upgrade to a premium spirit at a charge (again we didn’t feel the need). A good range of soft drinks, smoothies, tea and coffee included. Cannot fault the food at all, a huge variety through the day with high quality ingredients (we basically lived off lobster, tuna sashimi, and fish tacos!). The dinner tasting menu changed every night, with some extra surprises organised by our host e.g. romantic dinner on the beach but I won’t spoil the rest. Our host Jacob was everything we could have asked for and more! So friendly, accommodating, and regularly checked in on us through the day to ensure we were well looked after. We also did the Spice Tour and Stone Town excursion and thoroughly enjoyed. Our guide Abdula was very knowledgeable and helpful, and a great sense of humour too! Kilindi is probably the friendliest place we have visited and all of the staff take pride in their work. Everything is clean, well looked after and the staff are so happy and cheerful. I have uploaded some photos so you know what to expect, but not too many as you should experience it for yourself! Thank you Kilinidi, for making our honeymoon a beautiful experience that we will remember forever. P.S. the entry road is a little bumpy, but rest-assured that paradise does await at the end!
