Jackalberry Chobe

Having purposefully not done a deep dive on any of the places I was going to (didn't want to have any major expectations), the moment we arrived at Jackalberry Chobe was absolutely amazing!!! The greeting of the staff as we arrived, being given a welcome talk by OP was enlightening and I couldn't wait to discover more! The welcome snack and beverage was a lovely touch. To find out that this lodge was mainly staffed and run by women was the tipping point for me! Providing women and single mothers the opportunity to have a career that allows them to provide for their family is so wonderful! Woman empowerment was at the forefront! Then we were brought to our room/tent... just WOW!!!! The view, the attention to detail, the comfort. Every little detail had been thought of! Meals were amazing and plentiful! We got to opportunity to experience some song and dance and even took part! The sunrises and sunsets were spectacular. Our driver Jack was very kind, knowledgeable and patient with us! I would return here tomorrow if I could and I STRONGLY RECOMMEND spending time at this amazing amazing place!

Welcoming, friendly staff. Beautiful setting on river. Accommodation top notch with everything you need. Food excellent. Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. Enjoyed both the game drives and boat trip. The infinity pool was sparkling. Lots of little touches to make the stay special.

Excellent, but is it value for money? From the moment we arrived, the service was very good and continued throughout, even going to the extent of making last minute changes to our game drive and river cruise itinerary. The tented rooms on high stilts were absolute riverfront and excellent. The rear bathroom with shower and claw foot tub was superb. The staff were very detailed in personally seeing you and informing you in advance of anticipated pick up times for game drives etc. Food was of high quality and included beer, wine and gin but not other spirits. Given the extremely high price paid, this should be a full all-inclusive and spirits should be included. The only issue was the slowness of the internet. Given one is paying a premium price for this facility, High speed Internet is now just the norm, even in establishments with lower ratings. This needs to be improved. At the end of the day we loved the property. Although we appreciated that the rack rate price includes activities, but do wonder what $1, 000 + per day could buy you elsewhere. There are obviously cheaper lodges in the area and one could add the drives as an additional cost, for example. Nonetheless, thank you to the staff for making our stay a pleasant one.

WOW! My wife and I spent six nights and loved every minute. Our cabin on the river was very comfortable and the view was outstanding. Our game drives, whether on land or on water, were hosted by knowlegeable and friendly guides who went out of their way to please us. Same goes for the staff at the lodge, from the managers to the chefs and servers to the cleaning and laundry crew. If you're planning to be in the Kasane area and game drives are important to you, Jackalberry Chobe deserves serious consideration!

An exquisite luxury lodge overlooking the Chobe River. We spent 2 nights and had the best time! Opi and team were incredible with a special shout out to Miss Bee for the gorgeous room and of course Albi who managed to get us up close and personal with lioness and cubs! If you're looking for the full African adventure look no further.

This was our second visit to jackalberry, the first time we were only there for 2 nights and because we loved it so much we wanted a longer stay. Our first afternoon we were getting ready for a safari drive when OP introduced herself. I recognised her then when we mentioned about being there last year she recognised me and gave me the biggest longest hug ever. It was beautiful. Shime was our guide for the week and he was amazing. It was so obvious that he loved the bush and the wildlife. Because we didn’t have a list of animals that we wanted to see and were quite happy just driving around seeing what was out and if anything exciting was happening we would drive over. Also he was so in tune with the animals, he would sit and talk to them in a quiet voice. He also took us to some lovely sites for our morning tea. Back at camp all the staff are very attentive, Spa the chef took time to find out our needs (especially as I don’t eat much and I’m very fussy) . They have cultural nights and the staff sing and dance. OP takes time to explain in English what it’s about. OP also takes time to talk to her guests. I really enjoyed our talks by the fire after dinner. The camp is surrounded by bush land and the river so having your tent by the river is so pretty. We loved our stay so much and are hoping to return sometime. Keep up the good work and OP I hope to see you again to continue our chats by the fire

Two days here just wasn't enough...what a gem of a place in Kasane! OP is a standout as the manager...she is warm and welcoming and fantastic at not only caring for her guest but also doing an amazing job leading her staff! The accommodations are beautiful, the food is amazing and Blackie the bartender was always making us fun drinks! Can not wait to come back and stay longer.

Such a lovely relaxing place to stay Our view onto the Chobe River was awesome, our balcony was looking directly out onto the river. Our Manager - Op was superb, nothing was too much trouble for her, she was very professional, warm & friendly and such a pleasure to see her big wide smile everyday. Our Guide - Jack - He was the man! The sightings were unbelievable, Honey Badger, Sable, the elusive Roan, these were things that I was hoping to see but thought I wouldn't get to see. The very warm & friendly staff, also made our stay there so great. We thoroughly recommend Jackallberry.

Jackalberry is a home away from home. Led by OP & her beautiful team, an awesome lodge, with wonderful service and hospitality! A paradise for my delegation & I during our official meeting in Kasane in Dec 2023.
