Primate Lodge

The Primate Lodge in Kibale National Park is an incredibly beautiful lodge with the best food we’ve had in Uganda. The staff were SO attentive. They even cleaned our boots for us after our chimpanzee trek. The rooms are gorgeous and comfortable.

The lodge immediately gives you an impression of staying in the forest with great staff and service at this lodge. The food and drinks on offer are delicious with the reception and restaurant area positioned to view wildlife all around especially seeing wild monkeys jumping from tree to tree whenever you are there. The lodges where you sleep are extremely private in a separate forest cutting feeling safe and quiet. Would highly recommend and a fantastic place we stayed as part of our honeymoon.

We loved primate lodge! Literally up the hill from the chimpanzee trecking, which is what we came here for. Our butler was Huntington and he was so amazing and helpful!! Meals were delicious, bed was extremely comfortable. We even saw baboons and monkeys while we ate lunch. Robert and the rest of the staff made us feel at home.

An amazing place that is right where you want to be. Hilda and Mary were absolutely phenomenal and took amazing care of all of us. Baboons all around and a small walk to the chimp trek. Can’t recommend a stay here enough. I hope to get back sometime in my lifetime.

Wonderful hospitality. The staff gives you their undivided attention and goes the extra mile - doing laundry quickly (within hours), cleaning shoes after a long trek, and always with a smiling face. The rooms are very spacious and well maintained. The food was also amazing - Joseph is a great chef! Innocent was an amazing butler and has the most joyous smile. He made us very welcome. Would recommend highly if staying in Kibale.

Absolutely wonderful place. The staff are extraordinary and ensure we have everything we need. Excellent food with many options for each meal. Everyone is assigned a personal butler upon arrival, my butler Hilda was wonderful. The cottages are very clean and cozy, right in the forest. They provide clean drinking water in the rooms, have wonderfully hot showers. There is a nice bar and lounge area as well as a fire pit with comfy sofas. Location is also perfect, very close to departure point for the chimp tracking. You will not regret staying here,

The service was amazing. Innocent was our butler and he attended to every detail that made our stay perfect. Every morning he brought coffee and tea and cookies along with his singing for a wake up call. The scenery is amazing in the forest with the trees and butterflies and animals. It is walking distance to the Chimpanzee Trekking and the Chimpanzee Habituation experience. All of the staff was attentive. The food was amazing. There were a family of baboons with babies playing on our patio that were precious to watch. You could not ask for a better experience. The cottage was spacious and beautiful and private with a private large patio.

This lodge is very special. On all levels. The room is beautiful and beyond all expectations. The attention to special detail is amazing. Lovely bathroom, comfortable bed, every amenity provided, including bath products, safe, hair dryer, outside camp light, bug spray, coffee delivered to our door in the morning at time of our choice. Coffee and drinks are available at all times, at the bar. Wine, beer, soft drinks and local gin is free of charge. The meals are delicious and we have many choices. The chef, Joseph, os quite talented. The wonderful host who has guided us through multiple meals, with a chaotic group who continued changing our minds, Hannington, was so patient and cared for our needs. He deserves 10 stars plus. All the staff at this lodge are the best. We love it here and wish we could stay here for many more days.

The lodge is amazing and the people (led by Hannington) were even better. They cater to everything you could think of and things you wouldn’t even think of. We got back from a chimp trek and they took our shoes to clean them and gave us crocs to wear until they were clean. Beds were comfortable, rooms were huge, food was delicious!
