Crithoni's Paradise Hotel

On arrival it was clean , our room described as a garden view room actually looked out-onto a track where every night a tanker parked . Upon complaining we were given a good room overlooking the bay . There were a few minor issues in that decor outdated . Rooms carpeted . (In first room beds had frayed material that covers its base , broken light fitting in bathroom also.) Rooms had air conditioning , but ours would drip h2o onto the carpet when the plastic bottle that was outside our room was full . Swimming pool clean , did get busy most days . A good 15 minute walk into beautiful Ag Marina . Plenty of tavernas to choose from for an evening meal . We did bed & breakfast . Food was good and plenty of choice from the buffet . We enjoyed our stay as it was a good base to explore Leros .

Biggest hotel on the island but needs some tlc and updating. Has a 1980s feel. The bed was super hard, like sleeping on a worktop until we were given a mattress topper which made it a bit softer. Breakfast was good, with vegetarian options. Didn't have any other meals at the hotel. The pool side bar was friendly with good options and snack food to order. The pool side itself was filthy. There was an old used plaster on the side of the pool for at least 4 days and we never saw anyone sweeping around the sunbeds or washing the floor so inevitably the floor was very dirty. The grounds were lovely and the gardener did a good job. On checking out the reception staff, including the manager wanted to charge us twice for the bar bill. It was their mistake but they would not admit it and just by us checking our bank account we could see the payment had been made moments before making it again. The Manager was pretty rude about it and unprofessional, which was a shame as the experience with other staff was good and this gave us a bad feeling on the last evening. Overall good value for money and a general good experience apart from dealing with a particular receptionist and the reception Manager.

Very nice hotel. Lovely clean rooms, comfortable beds, water always hot. Food very good with good choice. Pleasant staff. Nice poolside bar (frappes could improve). The gym was ‘out of order’ when we visited and I thought about docking them a point, but as they say the ‘running machines’ will be back soon I’ve given them the benefit of the doubt! Good base for trips out. Agia Marina village, with its lovely church and harbour is within easy walking distance and there is a nice little beach just down the road. But be very careful when walking on the road. Lovely hotel in which to chill out.

Had a fantastic stay here in May, staff very helpful and friendly, excellent food, eat in the restaurant in an evening, great service. We asked for a change of room and the accommodated us straight away. Higher floor sea view perfect. Lovely place to chill and relax and enjoy Leros’s warm sunshine.

Leros is one of the dodecanese islands further north from Kos. The hotel is situated in Crithoni, in easy walking distance from the town of Agia Marina. The hotel stands in well maintained garden style grounds with a lovely pool. Sun beds were not charged for, but we thought there might not be sufficient seating round the pool in busy periods. Rooms are of good size, clean, and with good amenities. They are a little "dated" however, with dark wood furniture. Staff were friendly and pleasant. The food we had as a group was hotel buffet style, with good choice. Agia Marina can be reached on foot along the main road, which can be quite busy at times. It is a nice town with plenty of bars, shops, restaurants etc. A stroll along the beach from the harbour to the far end of town takes about 20 mins, and there is a quaint "industrial" bar there to welcome you. Catamaran Ferries run from the harbour to many other island destinations. We belive there are buses taking travellers to other towns, but we did not use them.

The public areas of this hotel, including the pool, restaurant and bar are lovely but the rooms and some of the service were extremely disappointing. We were promised a garden view but we looked out over the maintenance service dump and rubbish (see photos). The room was very tired and in need of full refurbishment. There was only one power point, no safe, no tea and coffee making facilities, torn bed covers, scratched and dirty walls, light bulbs missing. The bathroom was fitted with a plastic shower curtain , the shower hose leaked and on first use flooded the bathroom floor. The hotel was unresponsive to reported problems eg the back was missing from the remote control for our aircon unit meaning it's functioning was intermittent. Pool towels were in short supply, we had none for the first 24 hours of our stay. Inadvertently we then received 2 sets on our second day but were able to pass 2 on to friends who still had not been provided with any pool towels 2 days into a 3 night stay. Many other people in our group told us of issues that they reported but were not addressed. It is shame that these easily remedied problems detracted from the enjoyment of our stay.
