Hotel Matiana

This hotel will try to scam you one way or another. They cancelled the reservation via Whatsapp the day before the checkin but wanted us to cancel our non-refundable reservation on Booking. Big waste of time and money!

BOEK DIT HOTEL NIET! Het zijn oplichters. Ze hebben ons weggejaagd uit het hotel na het inchecken door te dreigen en te zeggen dat ze de politie zouden bellen! Ze wouden dat we ons reservatie via Booking zouden annuleren zodat we hun achteraf cash zouden betalen omdat "ons kamer volzet was!". Wij wouden dit natuurlijk niet doen omdat we al hadden betaald. Er kwam nog een man bij (volgens ons de baas) die heel arrogant en agressief begon te doen tegen ons. Ze hebben ons uiteindelijk weggejaagd door te zeggen 'verlaat mijn hotel nu en het interesseert me niet waar dat ge u geld terug krijgt'. Ik heb het hotel en streek huilend en met angst verlaten! Ze hebben geen google review en veel mensen die hebben moeten annuleren kunnen geen review geven op Booking hierdoor! Ik lees hier ook veel overeenkomende reviews die het exact zelfde hebben meegemaakt. Zelf hadden we nog niet gekeken op Tripadvisor omdat ze op Booking een 8,8 scoorden waardoor we er ook niet verder op in zijn gegaan helaas!

This hotel was truely one of the best experiences i’ve had. The staff was really concerned with making sure we had a great visit. Breakfast was top notch and the Location was like a dream. A place worth visiting.

Clean rooms but on the small side. Amazing breakfast on a gorgeous rooftop terrace and lovely pool but it was all ruined by the rudest owner who was so unfriendly and verging on aggressive that I just cannot recommend this Hotel.

Matiana is truly an exceptional hotel. The warm and helpful approach of the staff will consistently keep you satisfied throughout your stay. I would like to express my gratitude to the entire team here. Throughout our stay, we had the chance to experience nothing but the best, and I confidently claim that you won't find a better hotel in Turkey because Matiana is the best! The special croissants served during breakfast and the grilled halloumi cheese were our favorites. For dinner, my spouse always chose the steak, and the Matiana chicken is unbelievably delicious. As for me, I favor the fish, and you must visit the restaurant even just for the fish salad that accompanies the meal. The room hygiene and cleanliness are exceptionally professional, and all the amenities provided in the room are of high quality. Although we never wanted to leave, after our 12-day holiday, we are already trying to finalize the dates for our return next year to Matiana. Because this place truly gave us an experience of a holiday. Endless thanks to the Matiana team.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL. We got the reservation via BOOKING because it has a good score, when arrived at the hotel, the person at the reception said that the room we have booked is busy, but he would give us a bigger and better room. Afterwards he asked us if we could cancel the BOOKING reservation and after that book again so they have no registration problems. This was a red flag for us, so we went back to the car and called someone that has alot of experience with BOOKING. That person called the Hotel receptionist and this receptionist guy was very rude and hang the phone and didn’t returned the calls. After all this I went back with my wife, calmly without looking for trouble just asking what’s it gonna be. The reception guy said “ i think it’s best if you cancel the reservation”. I asked why we just want to rest we’ve came from a long way and we just want to get our room and relax. After this, the other guy came ( probably the head of the hotel ) saying rude things like “ Leave our hotel and get your money back from Booking or where ever the F i dont care!! “ this guy was extremely agressive for no reason at all, we left this horrible place while my wife was in tears. After this experience, we have read the reviews on this website. ( yes we were too late but you don’t expect things like this from BOOKING ) and what looked? We were not the only one they tried to change the rooms, cancel the booking etc. Please, if anyone that wants to go there, I hope you read this. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL, THEY WILL TRY TO GET MORE MONEY FROM YOU OR THEY WILL KICK YOU OUT IF YOU DON’T OBEY THEM. WE LITERALLY PAID FOR 4 NIGHTS BUT COULDN’T EVEN CHECK IN. I hope atleast that I can get my money back from BOOKING, this “ hotel “ needs to shut its doors and it certainly does not belong on BOOKING.

1 hafta boyunca konakladığımız ve gerçekten çok memnun kaldığımız bir yer oldu bizim için. Kalkan bölge olarak çok kaliteli bir yer mekanları plajları gidip görmeli. Oda temizliği, boyutu her şey ideal.. design oda tipinde kaldık ve gerçekten tatilimizi çok rahat geçirmemizde etkili oldu. Konaklayın ve demek istediklerimizi sizde anlarsınız, gerçekten kalite kokan ve gerçekten hafızada iz bırakan özel kokulara sahip bir yer. Tatil için en iyi otel kesinlikle Matiana

Worst hotel experience I ever encountered!!! When checking in he said our room was already busy. But he can give us a better room if we cancel the *********** reservation and pay in card there. Assuming it was just about saving commissions we agreed, only to realise later that way guests cant write reviews anymore. Wifi is only available at reception & lobby, not in the room. We wanted to take showed before going to bed but it was cold water only. Texted reception and said it would take 2h for boiler to be ready. After that we told them we wanted to check out the next morning and not stay the full night. Receptionist tried to be helpful but manager was very aggressive. He said that since we dont like it we should pack up and leave. I tried to argue that we stay & pay for one night since by then it was already after midnight, but he threatened to call the police if we don't leave right away. So ended up stranded on the street at 1am with my pregnant wife trying to look for another hotel. NB: Kalkan is a super beautiful little town with many restaurants and bars. Can highly recommend visiting, just don’t stay at this hotel while doing so.

It is an excellent hotel. The rooms are clean. The brekafast is excellent too. We had dinner at the hotel every night. It is highly recommended. It is the only place I’d like to stay in this area. The staff is friendy.
