Wonderful check in and hotel bar. The pool and spa were great. My room was upgraded and very spacious. Room service food was bland. Great location; recommend walking to Grill House for dinner. Make a reservation. Check in staff were very nice. The restaurant bar tender made recommendations for us and always served us another round without having to ask. Staff were excellent.

Excellent location close to shops & restaurants. Safe to walk about in Melrose Arch at night and busy with lots of people out and about. Hotel offers excellent service, good food and is very well maintained. Rooms are spacious, great pool & gym. Highly recommend this hotel.

The Melrose Arch area is walled, and is very safe to walk around. Lots of restaurants and a mall nearby with a few stores. The hotel itself is clean, well appointed and has excellent staff. Rooms are comfortable - although the AC's in the room dont go below 22C. I reported it, and was told maintenance would check but no change. if you like your room colder, you're out of luck. The showers dont have a door, so water seeps to the rest of the washroom unless you use the floor towel to stem the flow. Rooms are reasonably quiet but not soundproof. Breakfast is reasonably well organised with good variety. Not everything is labelled so ask. The eggs order can take a while so order early. Club M is excellent. The gym is small and limited for a hotel of this size. Curiously, there are 3 lat pull machines and 1 cable based one where you have to constantly change height and equipment to do various exercises. Internet is fast.

Visited Johannesburg and Cape Town for my friend's birthday and Marriott really rolled out the red carpet for us. The staff was extremely accommodating and welcoming. The room was beautiful and spacious. I spent 8 nights in South Africa and unfortunately only 3 nights at the Marriott. I could've easily spent my entire stay there.

Earlier this month, we enjoyed a four-night stay at the Marriott Melrose Arch. The check-in staff were exceptionally cheerful and helpful, providing a warm and welcoming start to our stay. The property was relatively new, the rooms really spacious with very comfortable beds, high-quality linen and all the necessary amenities needed for our stay. The bathroom was large, clean, and had good towels. The in-house restaurant offered a varied menu and breakfast was delightful. The service staff, along with Chef Escobar, were outstanding, ensuring our comfort and satisfaction. Chef Escobar even assisted with menu choices and followed up to ensure we were pleased with our meals. The hotel's location was ideal, situated in a self-contained gated community in Johannesburg, providing an extremely safe environment. We felt really safe walking around late every night, exploring the numerous bars and restaurants in Melrose Arch. Additionally, there is a shopping strip and mall just five minutes from the hotel, which hosts a weekend market. The hotel also offers a private car service for trips to Rosebank or other areas, albeit at a higher cost than Uber. However, it is a secure option for those needing transportation. Overall, our experience at the Marriott Melrose Arch was excellent and we highly recommend it for its superb service, comfortable accommodation and prime location.

Excellent Hotel in a very secure gated community. The staff were excellent and helpful , we stayed there with a very large Munster Rugby touring group. The food was excellent as were the staff, who did whatever it took for us. . An excellent hotel with good facilities and very importantly a secure area to stroll around the mini town.I'd go back again in a heartbeat

It’s always a pleasure coming back to this hotel it feels like home away from home, I would like to recognize the hardwork, excellent customer service and good vibes from the following staff members from breakfast; chef Oarabile Mathabathe, chef Malihlohonolo and Duma my favourite barrister. The following 3 people always make my day when I go for breakfast. The chefs always anticipate , what my eggs order are and my barrister knows which coffee kicks starts my day. Keep the amazing job that you are all doing I appreciate you all.

Service first and service always! My highest compliments to Mr. Grant Markham, the Guest Relations Manager, and his awesome staff at this wonderful hotel. As a lifetime Marriott Bonvoy Lifetime Titanium Elite member and having stayed over 1400 nights at Marriott properties around the world, I know a great hotel when I find one. My latest stay was truly a first class and 5-star experience! The concierge staff expertly arranged for a car service from the JNB airport where the driver was prompt and professional. When I arrived at the hotel very late in the evening, the valet and front desk staff was fully manned and provided a very hearty welcome! I was quickly checked in and escorted to my room. Mr. Markham generously provided a beautiful upgraded corner suite. After 28 hours of air travel, I sleep very soundly on the supremely comfortable bed. I visited the M Club in the morning and was welcomed by the very friendly staff. The food selection was very diverse and the made-to-order food menu was a true highlight of this Club. Later in the evening, I returned to the M Club for the hospitality hour and enjoyed delicious food and drink. This hotel is very new and very well maintained! I enjoyed the swimming pool and fitness facilities. This hotel is my go-to choice for a several day vacation! The service, quality of the facility, M Club and fitness facilities, and the very dedicated and friendly staff makes this the best Marriott hotel for me in all of Africa! The best final compliment I can offer is that I have booked another week long stay later this year at this first class resort hotel!
