This spa truly exceeded our expectations, making our anniversary celebration a memorable one. If you’re looking for a luxurious, tranquil escape to celebrate a special occasion, I couldn’t recommend this place more highly. We can’t wait to return!"

My husband and I spent a week at The Retreat in a luxury loft. It was life changing! We experienced healing from the meals to the spa treatments to the mountainous hikes. Executive Chef Sergio prepared Michelin restaurant level of meals and the wait staff such as Jose served it perfectly. I can keep eating some of my favorite foods because of the cooking lessons from the heavier set female chef. We especially enjoyed the Spa. I received Vida Abhyanga Equilibrium treatment from Amal Michael that was exceptional. His knowledge and expertise transformed my body from being stiff to pain free and limber. Shaveta’s “Self Love” workshop and praynyama classes gave me new insights into myself and breathing skills. Cynthia’s yoga classes were also extraordinary! I can go on and on about our experience but will stop for now. I highly recommend you go and see for yourself.

I stayed at Retreat CR from June 9th to June 12th 2024 (Cafe Room below the Spa) and unfortunately had a traumatic experience due to carbon monoxide exposure in my room. By the second night, I began feeling lethargic and nauseous, eventually requiring a trip to a clinic. On the final night, I woke up with a racing heart, shortness of breath, and eventually collapsed in my room. I was rushed to the hospital and later diagnosed with carbon monoxide poisoning upon returning home. Throughout my stay, there was little follow-up from the hotel staff regarding my condition, and the hotel lacked basic resources like electrolytes for ill guests. Even after notifying the hotel about the carbon monoxide exposure, their response was inadequate, stating they would "share it with the team and take necessary measures." This experience left me with ongoing health issues, PTSD, and anxiety, requiring therapy to cope with the trauma. I cannot recommend this hotel due to the safety issues and lack of proper guest care.
