Iberostar Waves Playa Gaviotas All Inclusive

Still dreaming of my stay at Iberostar Waves Playa Gaviotas—sun, sea, and seriously good vibes. Huge love to Danny & the animation team for bringing the energy every day, and the Star Prestige crew for making everything feel so special. Vegetarian-friendly, sparkling clean rooms (like, spotless), and walking distance to cute shops and local vendors. I picked up some one-of-a-kind art and handmade jewelry—such a special touch to the trip. Already planning my return!

A Beautiful Iberostar hotel overlooking a long Sandy beach.An Ideal winter or early spring chill out destination. We stayed here from 22 Feb until the 2 of March and had good weather. We stayed in a Star Prestige room in a priority location,which over looked the infinity pool and the fantastic beach beyond.The room was Large ,light and spacious.It has ample storage for cloths and a nice bathroom which had a shower above a bath. There was the usual mini bar fridge ,safe, large tv and a coffee pod machine. In the Star Prestige area which is adults only there is a small lounge with newspapers,coffee machines and a fridge with wine and water to help your self too. There is also seating and a large tv. Just outside the lounge there is a bar area to which you help yourself to a wide range of branded drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic,there are also fresh juices ,snacks and fruit etc. The man who attends to this area also comes around the sun beds with refreshing drinks etc. Breakfast,lunch and dinner are served in the main hotel’s buffet restaurant but star prestige has it own area with in the restaurant. The food is varied and of a good quality. The whole hotel is kept spotless with friendly hard working staff. There is a Tapas bar and the main buffet restaurant. Is also a bar on the 6th floor with amazing views of the pools and the beach,there is also a bowling bar and an entertainment area. Star Prestige rooms have a mini bar and a coffee pod machine but if you want a kettle you have to ask for one at reception and pay a €20 deposit and €10 deposit for the safe key which are both refundable. We could not fault a thing about this hotel and we stayed here 6 years ago in a normal room and also had a love holiday so it depends on what you want and if you think Star prestige is worth it, we enjoyed it and would probably stay here in star prestige again.

Excelent stay with the kids during half term. Great facilities, amazing staff, fantastic entertainment and superb location. It is really good that we could used the sister hotel swimming pool facilities. It could be easily be a five star property with few tweaks such as having a minibar in the room or free use of the safe.

we stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks. they greeted us kindly at the reception and took our luggage and brought it to our room. the room was very clean and tidy, they cleaned it every day and all praise for the cleaners. breakfast was excellent as well as lunch and dinner... also the restaurant by the pool too.. we spent the afternoon in the Tapas bar which surprised us a lot there was a very professional and excellent waiter Alfredo who always served us nicely. pools and sun loungers all praise.. and especially praise for the Animators ( Matias , Judith, Nerea , Lucia , Stan ...) you have to try everything the hotel offers.. we look forward to coming back.. we also had a problem with transportation to the airport.. but the hotel solved it very quickly and helped us..

Great bits. * hotel lovely and clean * Rooms spacious. * Food amazing(best we’ve ever had) * Kids pool great with a bouncy thingy also the other pools max depth is 1.4m. * sunbeds we went down at 9am and there was still plenty so no need to run like nobheads and reserve beds. * Beach is stunning, calm waves for kids and powder sand. * wristband has tiny Keyfob on for rooms so no carrying round a card, also kids could have one aswell. * Slide in reception kids loved everyday on way to dinner. *lunch & snack area amazing. * Taxi into Mara Jable costs €6 takes 5mins and worth it as much better shops. *. Cold water refillable stations everywhere * Able to help urself to bottled spirits and beer. Not so good * Travel time from airport circa 90mins or 60mins private taxi. * The Hill from Hell down to the beach, it’s very steep and long be prepared for ur calves to ache!! * Nothing really to walk to 20-30 mins to a basic shopping area with a spar and few tat shops. * Our room only had partial balcony and was in the shade allday room 5126 all rooms on floor 5 only had partial balcony. * Entertainment every other night was poolside and really loud until 11pm, not great for kids. * I’ve cream in poolside restaurant never worked. Not much to do in evening for kids. Things that could be improved, Our room layout was wrong in my opinion, kids beds were as you walked in and had access to balcony, whereas the adults rooms had a separate door and no balcony, this should be the other way round to put kids into a separate room. * Provide elec scooters to go down and back upto hotel from beach. * Choc fountain was more like dark chocolate, kids didn’t like it. * Strawberry’s coated in syrup, just have nice fresh ones please. * 1 person making omelettes, took forever. * Ice cream in main restaurant, need more access room, was always a queue. * Main theatre room was extremely loud and very hot, not surprised most nights entertainment was outside. * games room a rip off €2 each for most games and the tickets you win are minimal, no chance of decent prizes as would need 10000+ tickets (cost me bout £70 for 10 bouncy balls)

We arrived here as a group of 9 adults and 2 children aged 6 and 8 years old. Overall we have had a lovely 9 nights at this Hotel. We had a private transfer from the airport which took an hour . 1) Food is excellent. The buffet restaurant provides a fantastic breakfast choice and the best omelettes from Bruno. Lunch and Dinner also a wide variety of wonderful choices and included fish, shell on prawns. Etc. The branded drinks are good and we had Moët and Chandon champagne and Prosecco brought round by staff on a couple of evenings . We ate lunch in the Oasis bar some days which is ideal situated next to the pools . We tried the tapas bar one evening but this was not for us . We enjoyed the Coronas bar upstairs over looking the pools ,however the drinks tended to be “flat“ The tonic water needs ideally to be provided in separate bottles perhaps ? The coke was also flat ! So we were disappointed with our Gin and tonics 🥲 We also liked the ice creams brought round poolside on a few occasions . 2) The access to the beach takes 5 minutes to walk down to 4 flights stairs . Perhaps a lift would be helpful ?? Beautiful beach . Quite windy while we were there so quite a rough sea . 3) The entertainment team were very friendly and worked hard . We enjoyed an amazing magic show and watched some of the shows. We did not use the Kids club . My negative is that the App we used for the daily activities did not always tally with what was said on the display boards at the Hotel so we got conflicting times and activities . This needs addressing. The magic show was listed as an acrobatics show🤷‍♀️ 4) The bedrooms were light and airy and a good size and good balcony . Cleaned daily and we found the beds comfortable. Air con ok . The shower is over a bath so I asked for a bath mat for fear of slipping as stepping in to the bath . Ideally updated to showers only ? The towels were also very poor quality thin and grey . Better towels please . Pool towels were fine €30 deposit each. Nice toiletries in the room too. So overall we had a lovely holiday here
