I booked this hotel for three nights, eight months in advance, specifically requesting the Blue Room, which was confirmed at the time of booking. The hotel required full payment prior to check in, which I complied with. However, upon arrival, I was informed that the room was unavailable—something I was shocked and disappointed about, given how far in advance I had booked and how much I was looking forward to it. The manager explained that the room would be available after the second night and, in the meantime, we had been upgraded to their best suite. The Pink Suite was spacious and had a huge private deck (though not very usable in the heat), a gorgeous bathroom, and an incredibly comfortable bed. However, the overall decor was nowhere near as stunning as the room I had booked. This experience made me feel like the hotel prioritised another guest and I felt misled. When we finally moved to the Blue Room, it exceeded all expectations—absolutely stunning and one of the highlights of my trip to India. The hotel itself is a peaceful oasis, and we dined at the restaurant every night. The food was excellent, the wine selection impressive, and the chef and wait staff were outstanding. A special mention to Saritha at the Frangipani Day Spa—I had a salt body scrub and massage, and she was an exceptionally skilled therapist. Overall, it was a wonderful stay that met my expectations, except for the frustrating confirmed booking override at the start. There are lots of stunning heritage hotels to choose from in Jaipur, so I would hesitate to book again, fearing the same thing could happen.
