Great experience stay with this village. Nice for couples and family. Highly recommended 👍👍
We love this place so much that I think a written review or photos would not do it justice. Better for you to come and experience it yourself. Hope to visit them again on the next solar maximum! PROS: - Seamless transfers with the airport and bus station - Lots of available activities that can be arranged with the hotel, but we also enjoyed having lots of free time to explore the nearby wilderness which was lovely in autumn -Auroras were visible in 2 out of 4 nights of our stay, we booked the aurora guarantee package which includes the aurora alert app which notifies you if there are auroras visible and how intense are they, just make sure to permit the app to make notifications and your phone is not in silent mode. - Food was scrumptious! Our package includes a daily buffet breakfast and a three course dinner which we all loved! For lunch, the system here is you could order a main dish (a variety of soup, fries, or toasted sandwiches) and with it comes access to the salad bar. We particularly liked the tomato and lentil soup for lunch which was a perfect balance of tart and creamy, with a mild hint of spice, perfect for the chilly Lapland weather. For non-alcoholic beverage drinkers, we also loved the cranberry mocktail and had it for most of our dinners. -Room was warm and cozy with a nice view of the sky and wilderness. Bathroom was very clean with heated floors. Hot water is limited so once you have exceeded a 100 liters (which is more than enough for 2 occupants) you have to wait for 30 minutes for the boiler to heat the water. -Great internet connectivity and speed even within the cabins. -All staff were efficient, nice and friendly, always making sure that we were fine. -Very handy online check-out CONS: -Pack light as your cabin might be quite far from the reception, and have to carry your luggage there. (Cabins pretty close to reception are 1, 3, and 28) -We felt so at home that we no longer wanted to leave.

This was a beautiful resort, the staff were lovely but was desperately in need of trollies to get your luggage from reception to your cabin. Lugging them for long distances over very rough ground was untenable for many of the guests, including us.

This hotel has many advantages, such as good location (including excellent auroras), clean cottages, good food and excellent service (above all in the restaurant) What bothered us were 2 things: - we came from Helsinki by plane (only flight that day) and arrived in hotel at 11.30pm (together with 5 other guests. Taxi driver that was sent to pick up was grumpy up to unpleasant. Upon arrival and check in we had to drag our suitcases in the absolute dark (and we snow on road) to the other side of resort. No light and no support - everything needs to be paid extra, even the resort it's own aurora app, sauna and jacuzzi . Activities are expressive (we took the aurora hunting toy which was fun). Second and third day we rented a car (costing 80 euros per day for a Skoda Octavia fully insured) and did the trips ourselves (hiking, Sami museum in Inari, etc). Hope hotel management will tackle both above issues

Aurora Village Ivalo was one of our favorite glass igloos on our giant road trip around all of Finland, Sweden and Norway. The staff and the service are incredible, the glass igloos were so beautiful and actually felt like they had privacy, the food at the restaurant was fantastic. We LOVED all of the excursions we ended up going on - from making Finnish pancakes, to snowmobiling, to ice karting (so fun!) to doing an Aurora Hunt by car, we'd recommend them all. It was particularly nice for the aurora hunt, the guides ACTUALLY tried to find good northern lights for you unlike some of the other tours we've done in Rovaniemi for example. If you're brave, the lakeside sauna was super fun too. We will definitely be coming back again one day! Thanks for an incredible stay.

We had four nights at the Aurora Village. The glass roofed cabins were amazing. Watching the northern lights from bed. The staff could not have been more helpful and professional. We did the dog sledding, reindeer sleigh, ice go karting, reindeer feeding and the jacuzzi. It could have been on another planet. And to top it off the meals were excellent. We also saw the lights two of the four nights. Could not recommend highly enough. Thank you.

I stayed in Aurora Village with my partner for 5 nights at the beginning of February and can say that it well and truly exceeded our expectations! Staff: Every single staff member we met was so friendly and helpful, from the reception team to the restaurant staff and of course the guides who run the tours and activities. All of the guides were really knowledgeable and seemed to enjoy telling stories about the area, the northern lights etc. which was great. Food: The food was incredible! Breakfast and dinner are included in the room rate - the dinner is 3 courses and the menu changes each night. I am a bit of a fussy eater but honestly there wasn't a single dish I didn't enjoy. The menu was so varied and they seemed to cater for dietary requirements well. Accommodation: The glass igloo was perfect - so cosy and comfortable. The view from the bed is magical and we loved laying there watching the stars (and luckily the aurora on one night too!) The heated floor was a nice touch so you could warm up quickly after being out in the cold (it reached -29 degrees during our stay). There are two pairs of snowshoes provided with each igloo and the hotel also provides thick overalls which are very warm for the activities. Activities: As we stayed for 5 nights we pre-booked quite a few activities. The snowmobiling and ice karting were excellent fun! Cross country skiing was a great experience as I have never tried skiing before - beautiful scenery too. The wood barrel sauna with ice swimming was awesome! We loved the evening snowshoe hike- our guide even built a fire on the frozen lake and we all huddled around toasting marshmallows and cinnamon buns. The reindeer feeding was so cute and the husky sledding (4hrs) was amazing! I would recommend all of these activities! We also hired the fatbikes when we had some free time and used the free sleds. We booked onto an aurora hunt by car tour at the last minute and luckily there was availability, but I would recommend booking activities in advance if you can just in case. We paid around 10 euros for the aurora alerts app and I would recommend doing this - the only issue was that the WiFi in our room wasn't the best so we did end up missing an alert - if you can connect to mobile data instead that would be a better way to guarantee a connection. Overall we had the most incredible experience at Aurora Village and have recommended to all of our friends and family. We would love to return in the future!

Such a wonderful experience! The 3-course meals for dinner were superb. The cabin with its heated floors and heated windows to melt snow was perfect for watching the aurora pass by at night. We were extremely lucky and saw the northern lights 3 out of the 4 nights we stayed. We participated in 2 activities: husky sledding and northern lights chasing by car. Both were great with knowledgeable and friendly guides. And if you prefer free activities, you can borrow their sleds and snowshoes to hike around their immense property. I 100% recommend staying at Aurora Village.

Food was nice and the activities good but expensive. One activity the staff member had overslept so we got up and ready for nothing- no apology from the owner when we mentioned this. The sauna and jacuzzi was terrible for the price. We had booked this got my husbands 40th and were disappointed. The panel for the sauna wasn't working, no hair dryer and no robes or slippers so you either go bare foot or get your footwear soaked walking to and from the outdoor jacuzzi. It advertises you can order drinks for the sauna but the reality is you get these at the bar yourself and carry them down. The staff running the activities were all great, especially Nick but reception and restaurant staff were generally unhelpful and rude. We had an accident on the snow mobile and understood we would need to potentially pay the damage excess up to €1200 (and advised there was plenty of time to sort this before checking out). We saw and spoke to the owner several times after the accident and nothing was mentioned nor was it mentioned when we checked out but within 50 minutes of checking out, my credit card was charged the full excess and an additional £1700 in error. Not saying anything and then charging my card (incorrectly) seemed cowardly and unprofessional. Upon seeing my photos people have asked where I have been and would I suggest it and the answer is, no I wouldn't.
