The Portree Hotel is on Somerland Square, Portree. It overlooks the square. There is parking in the Square which is chargeable. Disabled car parking is free in any bay and also in the designated disable car parking bays. A Blue Badge must be displayed at all times. We stayed at this Hotel twice during May. The first occasion was for three nights (£510.00) and a week later for three nights (£765.00) on a Bed and Breakfast basis. When booking in August 2023 I expected to pay a deposit but was required to pay the total amount £1275.00 at the time of booking. The room we were allocated was well appointed with good views over the Square. The reception staff were friendly. The Restaurant was a different matter. The restaurant area was more like a pub bar rather than an hotel restaurant. The staff whilst not rude seemed to have a take it or leave it attitude to customers. Table allocation always seemed to be a problem even though we had booked Dinner each night. The staff seemed to struggle with the tablets used for the system Food was expensive and not of the best quality. We were disappointed. The breakfasts and dinners on a couple occasions the food was over cooked. For the price we paid I expected higher quality. Some of the restaurant staff require extra training in customer service. As an hotel resident we did expect better attitudes. Dinner on most night cost us around £90.00 to £100.00. Eating at other pubs and restaurants was not feasible as most used a queueing system and were very busying from before opening to when they stopped serving, All in all this was an expensive experience costing around £2000.00 for five nights accommodation. Would I recommend staying her? I don't think I would. There is better and cheaper accommodation elsewhere in Portree.

I stayed here for one night as part of a multi day tour. The hotel is in a brilliant location straight across from where the bus/coaches stop. The harbour is a few minutes away as are plenty of shops and restaurants. I booked a single room and it was big enough for one person. The room was clean and tidy and staff were friendly and helpful.

Never had lunch in the bar/ lounge before I see what I have missed. Great service and friendly. Busy day, with cruise ship tourists but service was still fast. Great bar menu, great fish and chips. Cooked perfectly, just the way I like it. Highly recommended.

Stayed two nights at the Portree Hotel, a warm welcome greets you in reception with an informative young lady at the desk. Well appointed single room with decent ensuite shower room. Overall, clean well presented room with adequate facilities and towels. Breakfast and one dinner was really nice, waiters were friendly and efficient and the food was of a high standard. Thank you Portree Hotel. Recommended.

As we approached the square in Portree, I was excited to see that our hotel was the pretty one on the corner. There is a car park in the middle of the square which made Parking so easy, and the whole town is walkable The location was perfect, and the breakfast, which was included, was really great.

We stayed here in July 2021 at the Pink House (check in via this hotel). The pink House was conveniently located with car park near by. The room was clean and a good size. As it was covid period, we had packed breakfast provided in our rooms. Staff were very helpful during our stay

This hotel has a great restaurant and pub. The rooms are cozy, but very small. We had a hard time fitting our luggage in. We loved the atmosphere, and being right on the square. The staff were nice, but the girl at the front desk was not too friendly. She was nice enough though. We enjoyed the dinner at the restaurant and breakfast was good.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Restaurant and bar in the hotel were small, but nice. Food was good. There is a pay parking lot right across the street if you have a car.There is no lift at this hotel.

Super food, all off ‘specials’ board, highly recommended, didn’t stay at the hotel, but restaurant/ bar excellent, attentive staff, very helpful with advice and recommendations, will return with the family very soon, downside poor taxi services to get from Portree, but I guess not the hotel’s negative!

The hotel has plenty of charachter, but not dated. Our room was very comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Great location. Modern and cozy room. Restaurant and food was great. Staff were lovely!
