Drake Inn

It's been a few months since we went and i forgot to write a review. From the moment Rebekka welcomed us 'til the morning we had to check out, we enjoyed our time at Drake Inn. It's right across the street from the beach and our other favorite place, the pink iguana bar. There was bottled water outside available at all times, too. We really enjoyed the rooftop area, where you could hang out, bring your dinner or just enjoy the sunset by the ocean. If we ever make it back to the Galapagos, I'd definitely want to stay here again.

From daily cleaning of rooms, to excellent breakfasts to the most gracious and helpful hosts. This charming waterfront inn has it all. Good beds, good air conditioner, literally across the road from the best beach in Isabela, and the view from the rooftop deck is lovely. We sat up there every afternoon for a glass of wine. Thoughtful extras, like beach towels available, a beer and wine fridge, purified water, a drying room for the snorkel and beach gear. Rebekka the host is a delight, and always available for any questions about the town. Don't hesitate, its worth it!

I have just returned from a stay at the Drake Inn on Galapagos whilst on holiday there with my two children. Ann and Carlos who host the Drake Inn were incredibly friendly and helpful. Really making us feel at home in there lovely beach front Inn. The Inn was incredibly clean and well laid out, the staff all very helpful and courteous. The Island itself is amazing with spectacular views and the Drake Inn has a great view of not only the beach but a flamingo reserve to the back of the property. The house it self is just but a short 15 minute walk to the tortoise sanctuary. All trips advised by Ann and Carlos were both amazing and great value for money, not to mention all the local knowledge held by them on the best places to snorkle. I can't wait to return and hope to stay at the Drake Inn again in the near future.

We travelled here as a family with our 9yr old daughter and we would definitely return. Rebekah was the key to making our stay perfect; she welcomed us immediately and provided lots of information about the island, including trips and where to eat. She also helped us get a takeaway one evening. We also loved our room; we were not expecting to have a separate bed room for our daughter in our space so this made us very happy. The hotel was clean and had lots of little extras that made our stay great. We also enjoyed the fantastic terraces, one looked over the beach and the other looked over the lake with flamencos, it really is a perfect spot. Thank you Rebekah, we really liked our stay with you.

We enjoyed our stay, the rooms were comfortable and clean, the lounge, front porch, upstairs Sun lounge and back terrace provided lots of space for relaxation. Great location across from the beach and steps from the National Park trail. Rebekka, front desk manager, made all the difference for our Galapagos experience. The island was swamped with people attending the homecoming festival and she managed to get us booked on some snorkelling tours, recommended restaurants, baked muffins for our grandson’s birthday celebration complete with candles, the list is endless. She is an experienced professional hotelier and her skills were much appreciated.She is a treasure!!

I arrived at The Drake Inn at sundown with my beautiful wife at my side, both of us not knowing what to expect at this remote location on Isabela Island in the Galapagos Islands. We taxied from the charming little port, Puerto Villamil through a quaint beachside town and arrived on the front porch of the Drake Inn, which is literally on the beach! We received a warm welcome from the hotel staff and were shown to a beautiful contemporary room—the Deluxe Suite. The Deluxe Suite was just what we needed to rinse off the many hours of travel. The suite has many amenities, including a private balcony area, a firm king-sized mattress, beautiful decor and access to a second story Jacuzzi on a separate veranda. We shared a bottle of wine and enjoyed the bright orange sunset and watched sea iguanas made their way across the sands. For the next two weeks we spent time shopping in the local town, visiting the tortoise conservancy, learning to surf, eating at great restaurants, and snorkeling—all within walking distance of the Drake Inn! Not to mention we went on a dive trip and saw all the sealife and what makes these Islands so special: sea lions, turtles, seahorses, parrot fish, sharks, rays, shellfish, and many types of seabirds. At the end of our two week stay, despite all of our activities, we were feeling renewed and invigorated, Perhaps taking a break from civilization is the way to go. Thank you Drake Inn!
