After a lifetime of tearing down old barns and cabins it was time to put some of the reclaimed wood to good use. The oak logs were all reclaimed from standing dead timber right here on the property. The ceilings throughout the cabin are made from reclaimed beetle kill ash trees harvested just across the river. The flooring is made from 100+ year old reclaimed heart pine. All of the trim work in the cabin is reclaimed barn wood salvaged from local barns that we have dismantled through the years.Fishing in this area is a big attraction so bring your fishing poles and get lost in the beauty of the western North Carolina mountains. Take a short stroll down the front lawn and be fishing within minutes of your arrival or set up a guided float trip or fly fishing excursion with some of our highly recommended local guides.The cabin offers one bedroom with a king size bed and pillow top mattress. Enter the master bath to the spacious open shower with natural stone walls and stone mosaic flooring. Look above to see the exposed locust rafters and reclaimed beams in the vaulted ceiling. You will more than likely spend most of your time here on the front porch relaxing to the long range mountain views. Watch closely for the huge cranes, hawks, and the occasional bald eagles that patrol the river. With the close proximity to the river you will most likely see some type of wildlife during your stay, there are coyotes, turkeys, groundhogs, deer, bear, squirrels, etc. This property is home to more than 50 head of cattle so no pets are allowed at any time during your stay here. Also no smoking in the house but it is fine to smoke outside on the porch. Open up the huge glass doors and let the lullaby of the river coming around the bend echo through the cabin.
