Premier Inn Inverness West

Room was clean, tidy, and quiet which is exactly what you want. The staff were friendly whenever engaged with and the check in process was relatively straightforward. I like the idea of sorting out your own room key at a kiosk instead of waiting in a queue so this worked well. Self checked in, self registered the car to avoid parking charges. Really easy to do. Minimal fuss. The breakfast was ok, it tasted like the food had been left under a hot lamp for a little too long but decent variety and did the trick for the day ahead.

I have become used to expecting a high standard from Premier Inns that I have stayed in over the years but this was not it! The worst issue was the toilet in our room which had not been cleaned properly. There were hairs around the rim and it obviously needed a second flush. In addition we only had one large and one small towel to share between the two of us. Both of these things could have easily been avoided with a minimum of attention to detail which was clearly lacking here. Elsewhere, the hallways and bar area were not very clean - the floor in the bar was actually sticky to walk on! Very disappointing!

On arrival, the self check-in machines weren’t working, and there was no one at reception, so my husband had to go and find a staff member. Both the corridor and the bedroom had a stale food smell, the hand soap had run out and the room itself was tired and run-down. The only saving grace was the comfortable bed. Breakfast was a particularly poor experience. Nobody greeted us on arrival, and we had to find someone to get a table. There were no tables ready so the waitress had to clean one while we waited. Many items had run out and took a long time to be replenished - when they finally were, they disappeared almost instantly due to the number of people waiting. The hot food was cold, and the overall atmosphere was chaotic with visibly disappointed guests. There was only one chef and one member of floor staff trying to manage a busy breakfast service. To their credit, both were doing their best. The chef, despite clearly being overwhelmed, managed to stay personable and polite, whilst the waitress - understandably - seemed completely fed up. We usually choose Premier Inns because they’re consistent and reliable - you know what to expect. Unfortunately, this stay fell well short of brand standards and expectations. Note to management - focus on service. If the service was excellent, everything else would have been forgivable. But service can only be excellent if you have enough staff - or managers who will step in and support their team when they are overwhelmed.

Great location, convenient for the city centre and travelling west and North Rooms are clean as usual, the bed is comfy and bathroom very well laid out

We were going to stay here so we parked in the car park prior to seeing reception, but upon reading the negative reviews about this Hotel we decided to go else where. We have received a parking fine from this Hotel for parking 30 minutes, on site and where we parked there is no clear signage saying that you cannot park on the property. The Reception area is not clearly signed & the reviews I’ve read is the Reception service is slow. So glad we did not stay here. Thats ok, we will pay the fine but it will hurt you more with word of mouth.
