This stunning cabin is the perfect escape from a couple’s getaway to a large family gathering, we have room for everyone! The cabin faces the river so you can enjoy your morning coffee on the deck overlooking the river. You might even be lucky enough to see the deer, elk, moose and eagles that frequent the area!Located 20 minutes from St. Maries, 5 miles to Calder and 35 miles to Avery there is endless access to outdoor actives for every season.The St. Joe River offers activities for everyone! Hunting, Fishing, Hiking, floating, ATV/snowmobiling, the list goes on and on. Anglers will love staying here, the St. Joe is known for its world class fly fishing for cutthroat. Get a group together to float the river! There are several locations both up and down river to float from. There is even a float tube/kayak launch just across from the cabin at the Cutthroat Resort. For the hiker in the group there are hundreds of miles of trails to access as well as several high mountain lakes in the area. For the sportsman, we offer a cooler to dress and hang your game. The main cabin sleeps 7. There is also a detached bunk house equipped with 2 queen beds, microwave, coffee pot, heater and fan that could sleep 4 more. Lastly, there is 30-amp service available for an RV. (Additional RV available for rent at the Cutthroat Resort). There is ample room to park so feel free to bring your ATV or snowmobiles and take off right from the cabin on the numerous trail and logging roads.We love how easy you can get to the cabin, located about 90 minutes from the Spokane/Coeur d’ Alene area makes it the perfect weekend getaway when you just need to “unplug”. Jet up Friday evening and leave Monday in time to make it to work feeling revived! Nothing soothes the soul like sitting around a campfire watching the stars. If you are out for a walk along the east side of the property you will notice the caves. We have been told those are old mineshafts! Please admire from a distance and stay out due to falling rock. We hope you enjoy the cabin as much as we do. The Tabor House was constructed around 1895 and is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.  It has all the charm of a Victorian style home with modern amenities and located just two short blocks from downtown Wallace, Idaho.Although the home is not ADA compliant, there are only three short steps to enter the front of the home with a main floor bedroom. The second and third floors are accessible by stairways.THE MAIN FLOOR-has 1 bedroom with a king-sized bed and 37" flat screen TV with Roku. A USB rapid charger is located on the wall facing the backyard. The living room has a cozy gas fireplace with remote, a 50" flat screen with Roku and Netflix, a DVD player with a selection of DVDs, games, puzzles and a book exchange. A Wii game console is located next to the DVD for family gaming. A Shuffleboard table is now located in the dining room. A CD Jukebox with free play is located in the living room.There is a spacious and well supplied eat in kitchen with microwave, glass top range, dishwasher, and full size fridge/freezer with ice maker. There is a large formal dining room, full bath, washer, dryer and gas BBQ (located on the backyard patio area).  Just inside the back door entrance is a mud room to put your skis and boots. There is also a radio flyer wagon to pull the kids around town or to get groceries as well as bikes to ride. There is ample parking on the street. Additional covered parking for your motorcycles, ATVs, bicycles, vehicle, etc. can be found at the rear of the residence.We hope you will enjoy the beautiful front porch (our personal favorite).  Wave to the visitors on the trolley as it goes by or if you are lucky, watch the elk or moose traipse through town. THE SECOND FLOOR-offers 3 more bedrooms and a full bathroom.  Two rooms have queen-sized beds and one room has a double/full.  There are flat screen TVs (32") in all the bedrooms also with  Roku, and lots of closet space. These rooms also have USB rapid chargers located along the wall which are labeled for identification. THE THIRD FLOOR-Or attic has recently been finished with new carpet, drywall, paint, windows. Because we are big on safety, we installed emergency exit (egress) windows.There is also an emergency escape ladder located in a silver plastic storage container in the room. We like to think of this floor as great for the youth in your group as it has 4 single beds in private alcoves (thanks to the gabled ceiling), a bubble hockey machine, 32" flat screen with Roku, and a classic Nintendo console (remember those?) with games for their enjoyment.   This of course does not mean that adults would not find this area fun also!There are five security cameras located at the front, rear and side of the residence. The cameras are live and recording.We accept pets up to 50lbs with a limit of 2 furry family members. There is a one-time fee of $25.00. The home features three bedrooms on the main level along with two baths. The kitchen is all new and nicely appointed with granite counters, hickory cabinets, new appliances, and is well stocked with everything needed, opening to the dining and living room areas. The living room has a comfy couch along with a new 65" flat-screen TV if you want to relax with a bit of Netflix after a long day of skiing at Lookout or Silver (10 miles in either direction). The dining area features a large table with a bench on one side and four chairs around the other sides. Sliding barn doors add a pop of color in three of the rooms.There is a large bonus room/loft/office upstairs with a twin daybed and a variety of fun/eclectic furnishings. There is also a full and usable basement below the main level with workout equipment and new 65" flat-screen TV to distract you while on the StairMaster as well as a small couch, bistro table, and dart board.All furnishings throughout are "new" with an eclectic farmhouse chic style -- most items are new from the factory with a number of repurposed accents from a variety of Coeur d'Alene "junk" stores spread about such as a potter's bench hutch, a custom-built standing desk using found pallets, and other knick-knacks.The master bedroom is comfy and spacious with a king-sized sleigh bed and a new 55" flat-screen TV. The second and third bedrooms are somewhat smaller but comfy with queen and double beds respectively.The internet is the "good" internet in Wallace with solid download speeds of 30 Mbps and a Wi-Fi router that reaches all corners of the home. The three new flat-screen Roku TV's are all set up with several of the popular streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, and Peacock) for your viewing pleasure. A new 22 KW standby generator was installed this year to keep your stay warm and pleasant should there be a power outage in town.There is parking for one car in the driveway and there is also usually room for parking two or three cars on the street (subject to the vagaries of the snow plows in the winter) . The home has an attached two-car garage but that is reserved for an owner car plus various tools and equipment. A Tesla charger is onsite in the garage with the charging cable routed to the outside of the garage for use at the driveway.It is a century old home and there are a few quirks in particular that merit a mention -- the stairways from the main level to the loft and basement are tiny and the floors in a few areas (particularly the bonus room/loft) have a bit of a slope to them.
