The Larkin Cottage is nestled amongst redwood trees just 3 minutes from the village of Mendocino. It is on the same property as the live-in owner's main residence. The cottage includes all the amenities of home. The kitchen is furnished with ample dishes and pots and pans should you decide not to enjoy the many wonderful restaurants in the area. A gas BBQ is located on the deck. The living room is equipped with a flat screen TV, DISH high definition service, WiFi, blue tooth dock for music on your phone or tablet, DVD player, and a DVD library of movies filmed in the area. The bedroom features a queen size Sleep Number bed outfitted in luxurious linens including a down comforter and plenty of fluffy pillows. Waiting for you outside are porch rockers, a private hot tub, and lush gardens. The Larkin Cottage property is abundant with beautiful flowers. Care has been taken to make sure that something is blooming every month of the year. The gazebo is a perfect spot for a small wedding. PLEASE NOTE: Cal Trans has removed the trees on the west side of the property due to bridge construction. This construction can create noise during the day. Facing south, is a large picture window with a unobstructed, breathtaking view overlooking the Headlands State Park and the Mendocino Bay. There is a smart TV, DVD player and stereo, a love seat, coffee table, desk, and a large Lazyboy chair with massage features and a gas fireplace so you will be cozy and comfortable. There are also books and DVD's for you to enjoy! A dining table perfectly framed in the south facing window, a pillow top queen bed, and near the bed, a bathroom featuring a tub/shower combo and a garden window. This 1880's home is large and comfortable. Although home is rustic and a bit funky, (Over 145 years old!) beds are all new and very comfortable, and it the ONLY home in Mendocino with an extra large yard and a path directly to the beach!Great for a couples or a family. Everything is within walking distance, including coffee, restaurants, ice cream, two beaches, whale watching, live theater, art studio, shops and site seeing.For that true needed relaxation the Mendocino beach house is the place.
