Laketown Landing is a large, private, 1,800 square feet condo attached to a home that is spread across two levels. It is located close to Lakes Michigan and Macatawa (less than a mile to each of them) and is less than 15-minute drive to the picturesque downtowns of Holland, Saugatuck and Douglas. A handful of Lake Michigan beaches are also just a 10 to 20-minute drive away.The main level has a large living room, kitchen, dining table, master bedroom with a king bed, one bathroom and a spare bedroom with a queen bed. The lower level has a large bedroom beyond the door at the foot of the stairs with a queen sofa sleeper and a day bed and a trundle. There is also a spare bathroom; another bedroom with a king bed and a sleeper; and utility room where the washer and dryer are located. There is not a separate thermostat zone for the basement, and it runs about 10 degrees cooler as the main level. A deck with a four-person dining set and a two-person bistro set is accessible off the kitchen through sliding glass doors. Steps from the deck lead to a spacious outdoor patio that has additional seating, a propane firepit table and a Weber grill! Both the patio and the deck are adorned with color-changing café lights and surrounded by a wooden fence for privacy. The WOODLAND room in the den/ basement has a beautiful view of the surrounding woods. The bonus room has a twin over twin bunk bed. Another full bathroom is located between WOODLAND and the bonus room. Finally, 2 portable memory foam twin mattresses with linens are available if needed.LAUNDRY IS NO PROBLEMAlthough you are on vacation to relax sometimes you just need to run a quick load of laundry. We installed 2 washers and 2 dryers to help alleviate the congestion of a large group. WHERE CAN I PARK? We provide for all guests a two car garage with garage door openers! There is also ample parking in the driveway for additional vehicles should you need more space.FUN STUFF TO DO? OF COURSE--IT'S HOLLAND!The things we love the most about this home, besides the house itself, are the local accommodations. We have two full wooded acres and a stream in the far back of the property. Lots of wildlife, especially turkey, squirrels, deer, and woodpeckers, make our two acres their home. Walk up the street for a few hundred feet and you will find Sanctuary woods, a nature preserve with trails and bridges. In addition, there is a bike path directly in front of our home. You will see joggers and bikers and people walking their dogs most of the day. The bike trail network in the Holland area is extensive and runs for many many miles in all directions. Bike rentals are available locally, and the marina is just a one minute drive north. There you can rent slips for even very large boats that you can take directly onto Lake Macatawa, or even Lake Michigan, which is just a stone's throw away from the shipyard. A boat rental company is adjacent to the shipyard. There you can rent boats (of all types), paddle boards, kayaks and more. Lake Michigan has limited public access sites, so we are fortunate to be a mere 6 minutes from Laketown Beach. A little drive will get you to larger parks--Saugatuck Dunes, Oval Beach, or Holland State Park. You can get to beautiful downtown 8th street Holland in less than 14 minutes and quaint downtown Saugatuck also in 14 minutes. Both places have fantastic restaurants and shopping. Your experience includes a second private deck area as well, complete with a fire pit and seating - it’s another perfect spot to take in the view. Inside, you’ll find wood floors with shiplapped walls throughout, complete with an updated kitchen, spacious dining area and living room with a gas fireplace. The fully stocked kitchen includes every appliance you could imagine including a Ninja coffee maker with grinder and an espresso shot option. A Nutribullet full size blender is ready for whipping up some frozen cocktails. There’s even a waffle maker for the kids! Right off the kitchen, find a full size front loader washer and dryer hidden in a convenient closet space. A fully updated bathroom with a walk-in shower is also located on the main floor.The dining area offers plenty of room to enjoy activities with friends and family. The adjacent living room includes a flat screen TV with Roku. If screens aren’t your thing, we have a cabinet fully stocked with all kinds of board games. Climb the stairs to the second floor to find 4 bedrooms. The master bedroom with king bed features a private walkout deck - spend your mornings drinking coffee and watching the quaint neighborhood come to life while taking in views of Lake Michigan.Bedroom #2 also features a king bed and has excellent lake views.Bedroom #3 has a full bed with a lofted twin bed over it (sleeps 3).Bedroom #4 features bunk beds with a pull out trundle bed beneath (sleeps 3).There is another updated full bath on the second floor, with a tub and shower. All bathrooms are fully stocked with hairdryers, shampoo/conditioner/bodywash, extra toothbrushes/toothpaste, flossers, Q-tips, feminine products, and plenty of towels.The cottage is tucked back in the exclusive, private Macatawa Park neighborhood. A gate code is required to enter. The neighborhood is on the shores of Lake Michigan, yet still close to everything that Holland, Saguatuck, and Douglas have to offer. The private beach is a 2 minute walk from the cottage, and we have plenty of chairs and beach towels on hand for guests to use. There are two paths to access the beach, one of them complete with a common area double deck and a slide for kids! From here, the descending steps will bring you right to the beach.At Whitecapp'd you’ll discover stunning sunsets, calming lake breezes, and a short drive to all the amenities in the surrounding vacation community. There are countless wineries, art galleries, and breweries to visit, as well as orchards and blueberry picking spots. Great shopping and restaurants abound - there’s always something to do.
