Each unit has shared access to the front yard, private fire pits overlooking the river & assigned off street parking space in the driveway for your vehicle. Wonderful, location with several local amenities & close to many Adirondack attractions.Centrally, located between Lake Placid & Plattsburgh, NY in the heart of Au Sable Forks on the main road to Wilmington (White Face), & Lake Placid. We’re directly on the East branch of the Au Sable River & walking distance to many things. Including, a shuttle to Lake Placid/Whiteface. Unit 1 is located on the first floor and has 2 beautifully decorated bedrooms & one office. Bedroom 1 has a double bed. The second bedroom is slightly smaller & also has a full size bed. The third room has a desk & daybed. The large living room/dining room features a comfortable sofa and love seat with a flat screen smart TV over a non working fireplace. Complimentary, coffee & tea is also available on the coffee bar. All units have an assigned off street parking space for 1 vehicle. Come enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountains!Whiteface Mountain and Santa's Workshop are just 10 miles from house. Jay covered bridge and swim holes are within walking distance.OUR HOME: Our renovated grandfather's home is located on 18 acres on a peaceful back road in Jay, NY. Relax on the deck overlooking the 180 degree views of the Adirondack High Peaks. Walk our trails in the woods behind our house or play in the yard (i.e., baseball and frisbee or sledding down the hill in the winter). Roast marshmallows over the fire in our fire pit in the woods (strict fire safety rules apply & no fires in drought seasons). PRICE DETAILS (see more descriptions of costs/fees below):$195 - 199 per night - varies slightly per VRBO automated system.Cleaning fee shown as $100, but $50 is a refundable trash deposit, making sure that guests remove trash and recycling. (Note: East Branch of the Ausable River is within walking distance, and the West Branch of the Ausable River is a very short drive. Lots of fishing info under TV at house or ask owner). Only 10 minutes to Wilmington for more swimming at the public beach (town beach at Lake Everest), Whiteface Memorial Highway, Santa's Workshop, and world-class skiing at Whiteface - featuring the largest vertical drop in the Northeast. Cross-country ski centers (Cascade/ADK and Mount Van Hoevenberg Complex) are a 20 minute drive away, and on our own property. Snow shoeing too.Lake Placid (home of the 1932 and 1980 Olympics) is less than 25 minutes away. Drive in the other direction to see the Ausable Chasm (10 minutes). Foodies will be satisfied: there are lots of new family-run farms in area with cheese, milk, eggs, chicken, beef, sausage, bacon, etc. Keene farmer's market is on Sundays, starting mid-June. It is a ranch-style home with a cathedral-ceiling great room that comprises a full kitchen and living area. A master bedroom (queen bed) plus two full bathrooms complete the ground level dwelling. There is a down-stairs living area that is comprised of a large bed-room that hosts a queen size bed, a futon (pull out full size bed) and an amish made rocker. Stairs leading to the downstairs bed-room/living area are complete with log rails & log gate for safety. Mountain Home has a covered porch with comfortable Adirondack Chairs plus an open deck to relax outdoors. There is an outdoor grill (bring your own charcoal) and fire pit (please keep fires small and contained). An outdoor hose is available. Soft sandy ground easily tracks through the home so please, we ask that you remove your shoes upon entering. Water is safe to drink. Septic system on property can handle toilet paper only. The Mountain Home is cleaned with all natural cleaners by (PUR Evergreen) products, Milliken, Co. Ausable Acres is a quiet neighborhood. Evening quiet hours are in place from 10pm to 7am. . As such, we have the expectation that our guests will honor the peace & quiet of the surrounding area.
