There is about 130 feet of low bank river frontage and an additional 700 feet of wade access under normal water conditions. The deck can be closed off from the stairs with a latching gate, making it toddler-friendly.The upper level of the house is where you will find the main living room, complete with TV (Internet connectivity only - no satellite or cable to interrupt your vacation), a wood stove, and brand new leather furniture for lounging. Behind the living space, next to the doors leading to the deck, you'll find an excellent eating area, easily seating 6 at a brand new dining set, with great window views to greet you as you sip your morning coffee. Expand your dining and cooking options onto the large, covered deck, where you will find a gas-fired barbeque grill and an outdoor dining set for four. The attention this home receives from its owners and manager keeps it clean and welcoming.The open-concept main room is complemented by slate and wood flooring, numerous windows with lots of natural light as well as well-placed lighting fixtures, granite and stainless steel in the kitchen, substantial and quality furnishings, and beautiful décor. The wood stove that anchors this space adds a warm, rustic touch. It’s the perfect space for family and group gathering, allowing for conversation, board games, watching movies, gourmet cooking, and making memories of all kinds. Four bedrooms are accessed down the hallway. Each bedroom has beautiful wood doors and floors, quality furniture, fresh bedding, and natural light. The first bedroom on the left sleeps two in a queen bed. Across the hallway is a second queen bedroom, suiting another couple. Just 1/3 mile down the road, in easy walking distance, the Kenai River views take your breath away. Just beyond that the road descends to river level where you can get up close and personal with this world-class fishing river.(Note: the beautiful slate floors have a natural uneven character. The house is located a five hundred yards upriver on the opposite bank from the Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge, just upstream the Upper River rapids. The living set up is ideal for a romantic couple, a family of 6 or 4-5 friends. Moose, bear, bald eagles, beavers, goats and mountain sheep are commonly seen from the property. Outside there are plentiful wild raspberries in late summer, an outdoor sauna and wade fishing for Rainbows and Dollies. Wildlife viewing from the property in May can be fantastic before the river opens for fishing. Bald eagles frequently hunt from the trees in the backyard during the early season. The fly fishing for trophy rainbow trout and Dolly Varden on the upper river is tremendous between July and late October. In late September and October silver salmon begin to spawn in the river behind the house.The fall season in Cooper Landing is arguably the most beautiful time of the year. As the summer season comes to an end the rainbow trout and silver salmon fishing is at its peak as the deciduous trees turn bright yellow and orange.The Kenai River is open for fishing between June 11th and May 1st.
