Sentido Trendy Verbena Beach Hotel

Just returned from a weeks stay and had a fantastic time. Food was outstanding especially in the a la cartes but even the main restaurant was very good. Breakfast is as you’d expect in Turkey so no fry ups obviously but there’s still plenty of choice. Plenty coffee machines around so no queues and staff will also bring you a drinks at breakfast if you don’t want to get your own. Most lunchtimes we went to the beach bar as we just have a snack and there was plenty of choice there and never overly busy. Evening meal choice was excellent with the main food areas supplemented by the external cooking stations and don’t miss the BBQ area which is to the left once you walk past the main section. Drinks were really good especially at the blue bar where the cocktails were top notch, thanks to all the lads here especially Cemal. We would always call in here just as it opened for a sunset drink. Pool area did get busy but we are early risers so never had a problem getting a bed. Always room on the beach if you can’t get a bed by the pool. The hotel does have a policy of removing towels before 0700 which stops people putting them out at stupid times and leaving them unoccupied all day. Entertainment was quite good with live music on a few times a week also there were a choice of places to sit and drink if you didn’t fancy the shows. Rooms really good with a big comfortable bed, well stocked mini bar and decent air con. The sink by the door actually works quite well even if it looks a bit odd. Must say a special thanks to the German girl in guest relations (sorry we didn’t get your name) who was very helpful and sorted out a special night for our anniversary. I would guess around 25% of guests were British, I don’t mind a mixture of guests, if I wanted somewhere full of Brits I’d go to Whitley Bay :) Most staff spoke English very well so we never had a problem communicating Well worth a trip into Side to visit the ruins etc and also make sure you head out to see the turtles go left or right along the prom and either way you get to a bridge where you can feed the turtles and fish. Only one minor moan, the entertainment from next door was really loud at the blue bar some nights due to location of their stage. Not much that the hotel can do but it does spoil the atmosphere a little We had a fantastic stay and are looking forward to returning later in the year for another visit, highly recommended

This was our second time at this hotel and I can honestly say it was better than the last time, we found out it was under new management and it was a Big improvement. We was given a family room at the front of the hotel 4 floor which was very nice but limited drawers in the bedroom, it was ok for the two of us but I think you would struggle with 3 or more people. Breakfast was very good but depending on how did the omelette some had to much oil in the pan. The food overall was very good, All the staff very friendly and helpful could not fault them. Lovely beach but could do with better shade the parasols didn't give enough shade. We are looking forward to going back to this hotel.

Visited the Blue Bar for cocktails and it was an amazing experience. All ‘the boys’ know how to ‘shake’ a good cocktail Service was impeccable and the boys were such good fun

The hotel has great potential, it is very nice, close to the beach and a wonderful boulevard. The vegetation around is amazing. The food is delicious, diverse and always fresh, I have a very delicate stomach and I have not had any problems. If I had to find fault with something in the kitchen, it would only be the breakfasts that need improvement, the scrambled eggs are always dry and an astronomical amount of oil is used for eggs and omelettes, which makes them tasteless and heavy. But overall the food is really very good and nicely served. However, there are a few inconveniences that take away the pleasure of the stay and definitely take away the feeling of 5 stars. Several people from the service are very rude, if you do not leave 5-10 euros you are treated rudely and contemptuously. In less than 2 weeks we spent almost 120 euros on tips! The waiters are constantly changing and several times when I did not have change with me I was treated very unpleasantly. This is not only my experience and other guests I talked to will confirm it. In over 20 years of travelling, in no other hotel has my partner been told about the length of his trousers! Hot afternoon, buffet dinner by the pool and a girl from the service stopped us at the entrance explaining that this was not an elegant outfit (he had linen trousers below the knee and a polo shirt) it was humiliating and rude, especially since she did it in a rather indiscreet way and there were many men in much more "casual" outfits in the room. The coffee is disgusting, the coffee machines are filled with instant coffee! In the cafeteria, which is only available from 2 to 5 pm, rude young girls also serve instant coffee despite the fact that there is a decent piston coffee machine there. (Another day from a different waitress I got a normal frothy latte for the same tip of 5 euros) Squeezed juices are additionally payable. The best places by the pool are already taken before 7 am, in 5 stars it is strange but it has happened in other hotels but the fact that people put 2 sunbeds together to be more comfortable and so that no one else lies down next to them... shocking, how can the staff allow something like that?! (I emphasize that disabled people who have trouble getting up do not do this, it would be understandable) It is absurd that between 11 and 16 you cannot change a wet pool towel, it is absurd because at these hours we most often need it. The hotel with its pleasant architecture, location and great food could be a gem among Turkish kitsch but easily eliminated problems are ignored.

First visit to Turkey and what a great hotel this is A good sized hotel with 5 pools , including a couple of slides for kids . Quieter pool too if that’s what you want Food was very good and varied. What I would say breakfast especially caters for non English , so no bacon /sausage . Not a criticism but just an observation. Wasn’t an issue for us Probably more of a German /Russian guests hotel Staff were first class and many of them . Spotlessly clean . Staff employed just to walk around with a dust pan Has its own private beach and bar. Entertainment staff were fab And value for money - cannot be faulted . Way better value than similar Spanish hotels Was busy in early July , so just be aware that as German schools finish for summer late June , sun beds can be a slight issue If you are late nighter you can stop in the bar all night if you wish . Early breakfast starts at 2am !

Absolutely fantastic. Where to start, we landed gone mid night and they could not do enough for us then, it is 24hr food and drink, so was able to get something to eat and drink. First thing that struck was how impeccably clean and fresh it was, and was not disappointed with our room. Spacious, air con(amazing!), complementary bottle of wine and there is a well stocked mini fridge. The grounds and pool area excellent, and of course direct to the beach with a bar and restaurant on the beach front. Talking of restaurants, the main buffet is brilliant, something for everyone. But you must try the ala carte restaurants, food excellent, and it is nice to have waiter service and order you food and be served. The animation team work so hard, and you can join in as much or as little as you want, special shout out to Hakan, made us feel very special, always had a smile, as did the whole team Evening entertainment of a very high standard, and the Beach Party and Pool Party's a bonus. If you get chance check out the Old Town of Side, lovely. Buses very cheap and pick up at the bottom of the road. Also our Tui Rep Heather was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed, and was good to know she would be there if we did. Check out at 12pm, so you can use the Spa facilities to freshen up, which was really handy. The Spa looked great but I did not use it. There are shops at the hotel and a doctor on site. Hopefully you find this review handy. Have fun. We will definitely go back.
