The Collingdale Guest House

Have to give it a 5* for the effort of running a small business. Friendly hosts and nice breakfast. Parking is an issue or it can be if you want to park outside. We found a space down the road but not ideal with blue badge. It is quite a busy road. Room was dated and TV very small, my partner couldn't see it from the bed. However everything you need is there. It's a really old building and the surrounding buildings make it look rundown which isn't the hosts fault, theirs is great. It is a shame but these go back to the late 1800s. Don't let it put you off. Here's the best bit, the bed was so comfortable and the quality of bedding was superb. My partner didn't wake once. The road noise even with window open didn't bother us. They have an honesty bar and a guest lounge. We enjoyed our stay and would return.

Special place to stay. Made to feel very welcome and at home by Sharon and all who keep The Collingdale running so smoothly. Breakfast was very tasty with great variety. Kept very clean. Beautiful view from our window and also communal lounge. Enjoyed lovely walks nearby and particularly one to an old mill for cream tea! Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic stay at Collingwood Guest House in Ilfracombe. The location was perfect – right by the beautiful harbour with stunning views and super close to everything in town. Parking was free and right outside, which made everything so easy from the start. The rooms were spotless, cozy and the beds were really comfortable, just what you need after a long day exploring. A huge shoutout to Sharon, who was absolutely amazing – so friendly, warm, and welcoming. She really made us feel right at home. Breakfast was delicious and came with the most incredible sea view – it’s hard to beat that kind of start to your day. And let’s talk about the price… £80 for a twin room in the middle of July during a heatwave?! Honestly, an absolute bargain for what you get. We’ll 100% be coming back next time we’re in the area, and if you’re reading this wondering whether to book – just do it. You won’t regret it!

This is one of the nicest guest houses we have stayed in.Sharon and Daryl are so friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble.The breakfasts are excellent and include freshly caught fish from the local Harbour.Everywhere was spotlessly clean.

The Collingdale was lovely. Very friendly and accommodating hosts. Sharon, Daryl and Sue made our stay very comfortable. The breakfasts were first class and accommodation exceptionally clean, comfortable. The Victorian house was sympathetically restored and had a personal touch with beautiful art pieces. Views of the harbour and sea were spectacular. About a 10 minute walk into the town which is very pleasant. Would definitely stay again. Thank you

What a wonderful B&B. We had the best ever breakfast each day of our 5 night stay, including a special smoked haddock dish. The full Devon (my favourite) was cooked to perfection using top quality ingredients, and was absolutely delicious. There is also a full selection of cereals, fresh fruit, juices etc. and toast with, once again, top quality produce. No lunches any day for us! Our room (2) was extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean, with every possible amenity you might need, even bathrobes. Everything was replenished every day, including bottled water. We had a balcony with two seats, cushions, and a view of the harbour. With the early morning sun, and a cup of tea, this was a lovely start to every day. Sharon, Daryl, and Sue are the friendliest and most helpful people you could hope to meet. Great advice on where to go for walks, places to see, buses, restaurants etc. and excellent recommendations on all fronts for us. This was our first visit to Ilfracombe having stayed in many other locations in Devon and Cornwall. We would highly recommend The Collingdale, and this would be our first choice if we decided to visit Ilfracombe again.
