Overall impression: My wife and I (as well as my brother and my wife's sister and their spouses) spent 8 days in May/June 2024 at the Kakkos Beach Hotel (Adults Only 16+) in Crete with the "AI Premium" option, and we strongly recommend a stay at this hotel to adults who intend to relax in very good conditions, in peace and quiet atmosphere and with guaranteed great weather and the possibility to enjoy swimming in the clear sea (however not yet very warm during our stay). Location: The hotel is located on the south-eastern side of the island, in the small village of Koutsounari, close (about 10 km) to the town of Ierapetra. The only downside of the hotel's location is the distance from Heraklion airport, which is 110 km, so it takes about 2 hours to get to and from the hotel. However, this circumstance was known to us prior to our departure and therefore came as no surprise. It should be added that we travelled comfortably in modern buses with efficient air conditioning. The Kakkos Beach hotel is connected with the "brother" Kakkos Bay hotel, where the "adults only" formula does not apply, while the residents of the Kakkos Beach hotel can use all the facilities of the Kakkos Bay hotel without restrictions (it does not work the other way round). The hotel, and indeed the entire complex, is situated on a beautiful bay with fine pebble beach (wich has been honoured with the 'Blue Flag' for it's clean water). The hotel is surranded by exceptionally well-kept,beautiful gardens with lots of different trees and plants. The garden cascades down to the beaches and there are quite a few steps and approaches, which may pose some difficulties for vacationers with mobility problems. Approximately 150 metres from the hotel there is a bus stop from which buses to Ierapetra and Sitia depart. Roughly 100-200 m from the hotel entrance there are two "multi-branch" shops (groceries, alcohol, cosmetics, clothing, household chemicals, souvenirs, etc.). One of these shops is staffed by two Poles. Also at the hotel there is a minimarket where basic goods can be purchased. Hotel: Completed in 2017, the five-star hotel (in our opinion absolutely deserving of this category), is an intimate facility with only 65 rooms, with nice and unpretentious architecture, low-rise buildings (2-storey), reception and lobby common to the whole complex, but at a quite a distance from the Kakkos Beach buildings. However, this did not pose a problem as both luggage and vacationers were transported to and from their rooms by electric trolleys. The hotel staff were exceptionally polite, always smiling, knowledgeable and helpful in all matters, from advice on food and drink choices, to information on any topics, and assistance with technical matters. This appraisal applies to the management, restaurant and bar staff, as well as to the cleaners, reception staff and maintenance staff. Room: We stayed in a double room (approx. 30 m2) with a sea view (room no. 157). The 'sea view' offered to
