Absolute blooming fantastic! We’ve been to Hwange many times, and this trip was the first in 20 years so it was special for our family - our girls were seeing Zimbabwe for the first time. Ele Eye didn’t disappoint! The buildings, tents and layout were exceptional, and what made it outstanding was the team - everyone who was part of our experience- the chef, the waiters, the bar team, our safari guide and the manager. We enjoyed drinks at the bar and around the fire with the team and that made our holiday - and it turns out, it was special for them too. My top tip - if you go, immerse yourselves and enjoy all the staff, they will enrich your experience. We didn’t see cats - and that’s ok because wildlife shouldn’t be on tap - we had amazing Ele, Giraffe, Wild Dog, Impaka, Kudu, Zebra, Warthog, Sable… experienced. We all loved it. Our girls are 14 and 12. They loved it. The 12-yr old has diabetes and they couldn’t have been more accommodating Would we go back? Yes please - tomorrow!

Spent 3 nights at Elephant Eye. Tent accommodations were comfortable--great bed and bedding, outdoor shower was fun. Our guide was excellent (very knowledgeable), and took us into Hwange National Park as well as the camp's own land. Amazing animal viewing--large game as well as small, birds galore. About 30 elephants showed up nightly to drink at the water hole as well as the swimming pool--what a dinner show! Staff was warm and, because the camp is small, seemed to be really interested in our having a good time. Excellent chef--the best food we have had at a camp (our 6th safari!). The camp helps supports women's craft coops in a nearby village, and the trip there was a highlight. Because Elephant Eye is small, they do their best to tailor your program to your wishes, rather than having a set schedule that every guest must follow. We highly recommend Elephant Eye!

Been there with my wife. It was our first safari experience and it was breathtaking. Unfortunately we were the only guest at this time but the lovely staff make us fell like home and we didn’t felt wrong being the only ones around. The game drives with the small Snack breaks in between have been awesome. The room was wonderful and the outside shower is just perfect! And of course, as another highlight, we get visited on both nights, having dinner outside, by large group of elephants having a pool party! We can just recommend staying at this wonderful, fell like home place and have a good time with the lovely stuff. Kind regards nadja and lars from Munich! We will come back!

My family spent three days and three nights at Elephant's Eye in April 2023. We cannot recommend the experience highly enough - we loved every minute of it. The staff were so kind, thoughtful, and helpful - particularly to our son, playing with him and ensuring he had everything he needed. The accommodations were the perfect mixture between luxury and closeness to nature, complete with an amazing outdoor shower. Our guide, Dumi, was incredible - he answered every question we had, found all of the animals we hoped to see, and made sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves throughout the experience. The food was also wonderful, particularly when you get to enjoy it while watching the elephants at the camp's watering hole. Everything about our experience was a ten - we can't wait to go back!

My daughter and I had a wonderful time at Elephants Eye from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The staff were just so incredibly friendly and helpful. Special mention should be made of Dumi, our guide who went above and beyond in difficult game viewing conditions and who really engaged with my daughter and humoured her love for the little creatures of the bush! Leroy is a real credit to the lodge as well and was always ready with a smile and also loved creating amazing serviette designs that my daughter enjoyed trying to copy. The food was truly outstanding and the chef Enoch made some amazing meals and also was more than happy to create bespoke meals for my daughter as needed. The lodges are lovely especially the outdoor shower and decking from which you have a view over the surrounding bush. It was lovely to have elephants in camp each night especially when they decided to drink from the pool! Lots of birdlife and the usual plains game right by the lodge. Will definitely be coming again!

Elephant's eye is a great little lodge in a private concession by Hwange National Park. The area is great for wildlife viewing. There are a lot of open plains and plains game. There is an exceptional amount of elephants in the concession and they stayed around the lodge almost the entire time. The lodge itself is really nice and overlooks a great pan.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Elephant Eye hotel, and I couldn't be more thrilled with my experience. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff, particularly Leroy and Dumi. These two individuals truly went above and beyond to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. Leroy was an exceptional concierge, always ready with a smile and a helping hand. . His attention to detail and genuine care for myself and my family made a huge impression on me, and I felt well taken care of throughout my stay. Dumi, on the other hand, was an excellent driver on the safari. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife and had a true desire to find us the animals we were looking for. His expert navigation and keen eye for spotting wildlife made our safari experience unforgettable. His friendly personality and engaging conversation made me feel right at home, and I loved spending time chatting with him during our journey. The Elephant Eye hotel itself was fantastic. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with all the amenities one could need. The staff was incredibly friendly and professional, always going the extra mile to make sure my stay was fantastic. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in the area. The views are breathtaking...

Stayed at Elephant's eye, Hwange in December 2022. It was wet season so it was hard to see through the thick bush but we still managed to spot some great game. The second night was magical, a herd of elephants came to the front of the lodge and was the perfect representation of Southern Africa.

I don't even know where to start. AMAZING! the accommodations were impeccable. Service was spot on. Not to mention the undesirable game drives, by JC. I can't believe all the elephants that return nightly to drink out of the pool. I felt bad for Chef, prepared our meal, presented it, and we all abandoned the table to watch the +25 elephants drink water. Oh and taking a shower OUTSIDE overlooking a water hole (only saw some baboons, impala and zebra), but knowing they are RIGHT there. did I mention the surprise hot water bottle in the bed, at turndown...such a pleasant burst of heat under the covers, in mid-May. Thank you for helping to make our trip so memorable.
