Our desire is to make your stay as comfy as possible, so please reach out with any questions or ways we can help. **We offer a fully stocked kitchen with serving pieces that go above and beyond a typical rental (since events occur in the additional barn we have everything to throw a great party.)**With three (or four) bedrooms, we've maximized the indoor living space with four queen beds and a twin daybed in the fourth bedroom that doubles as family room/bedroom. Two full bathrooms with one of them located in the master bedroom. **Due to allergies, this is a non smoking and no pets allowed property. Please do not book if either are needed amenities.**A big back yard and huge deck offers plenty of space for lawn games and gatherings, plus we have outdoor tables, comfy seating areas with sofas and chairs, as well as an outdoor fire pit. Throughout this year, we are continuing to work on the large backyard as we turn it into a special place for all the community gatherings. *Additional large gathering space (pictures shown) is available with donation and is a perfect spot if you want to host a family reunion, company picnic, shower etc. All proceeds support local non-profit community outreaches and it helps further our mission. We are happy to provide a canoe to anyone wanting to use one if requested prior to your stay or we have local outfitters nearby. Nearby is Mayo River State Park and Hanging Rock State Park. Local attractions also include nearby Autumn Creek Vineyards, Belews Lake, Gia Distillery, Hell on Horesecreek Brewery, Yadkin Valley Wine Region, waterfalls at Mayo and Hanging Rock State Park, Mount Airy “Mayberry”, swimming, restaurants and anything for your basic needs. Inspired by Henry David Thoreau's legendary 1845 cabin at Walden Pond, this studied replica was built over 10 months with careful attention to detail, based on communications with the museum curators at Walden Pond in Massachusetts. The cabin's beautiful mix of woods were locally harvested, the nails were blacksmithed to 1850-era specs. Recycled products were used as possible; and historical artifacts, including Thoreau's personal library while he was at Walden, help visitors step back in time. An inside root cellar and front porch cooler provide food storage options.Hiking trails, mountain bikes, axes and knives, kayaks and outdoor games are all provided. Coffee or tea are delivered to the front porch for guests, as well as firewood, fatwood fire starter sticks, candles and lamp oil.
