My wife and I stayed at this hotel in February 2024. First the good(ish) points: *Quite convenient for the chair lifts and the "commercial centre" which is basically a few bars (that are closed in the evening, so dont expect much in the way of nightlife or apres ski) ski hire shops, a supermarket and bank. *Free wine with your evening meal, (when it hasn't run out). *Most of the staff are nice and helpful, particularly the reception and cleaning staff, although 1 or 2 in the bar/dining room are just plain ignorant and rude. * Reasonably comfortable room. *Ski hire/free storage just down from the reception, although boots are just on pegs, so not secure, and boards/skis on racks that are not secure unless you have your own lock.. Now the not so good parts: *Described as "ski in, ski out" there is absolutely no way to ski in, as there is a mini alpine roller coaster between the slopes and the hotel. And only ski out if you take your life in to your hands (although there wasn't a lot of snow coverage when we were there, so ski out may be possible with a lot more snow). However, as the ski out area gets quite narrow, and a steep embankment is adjacent to the road, a slight miscalculation could see you sprawled on the tarmac and possibly in the path of a car. *The room could be quite cool at times, as the hotel thermostat was set at 20°C and despite asking for the temperature to be adjusted, nothing happened. *Tiny bathroom with a bath just over 3 feet long, no electic point for hairdryer/shaver/electric toothbrush, etc. *Although there is a mirror in the bedroom, the nearest electric socket is the one used for the bedside lamp, so that has to be unplugged if you want to use a hairdryer for example. *The bar/entertainment area is a bit like a 90s working mens club and the bar doesn't have a lot of choice (we asked for a cognac, a French spirit, and they didn't have any)! *The road outside the main entrance was so icy it was quite dangerous to walk up, to get to the main road in to the resort centre, and alo when getting on or off the bus. 5 minutes with a spade could have cleared the ice. *The dining room is much too small for the number of guests, meaning we frequently couldn't find a table, so had to hang about till someone left, then clear the table ourselves as the staff don't seem too quick at doing it. Even if you get there quite early, there is an issue getting a seat, some people were even sitting outside at breakfast due to lack of available seating. *The food is really very poor, and probably the worst in any hotel we have been to in 25 years of holidaying abroad, 2 or 3 times a year. Very limited choice, and not of particularly good quality, generally tasteless, and geared up for the French, with a description of what the item is, only in French, no English translation, so even though I speak some French, it was hard to work out what the item was. Although we had paid for half board, we started going to local bars to eat in order to get
