Huangshan Bai Yun Hotel

Staying one night at this hotel turned out to be a fortunate decision — I will definitely return. The staff were kind and attentive, the room was clean and well-maintained, the buffet offered a wide variety of delicious food, and the location was ideal for accessing nearby scenic spots. Among the many things that impressed me, the most remarkable was the attentiveness of the staff. They were genuinely considerate, quickly recognizing our needs and going out of their way to assist. It’s clear that the hotel’s policies support and empower the team to deliver thoughtful service. Let me share one memorable experience: My son and I arrived at the hotel completely soaked from unexpected rain. The front desk promptly arranged a warm, comfortable room for us and even allowed check-in several hours earlier than usual. The room had a compact yet powerful clothes dryer that quickly dried our wet clothes. A staff member also brought us a shoe dryer and a cup of hot tea to help us warm up. Throughout our stay, the staff kept us updated via the WeChat app with helpful information — including weather forecasts, buffet reservation updates, and events like a cultural performance in the lobby. We were also offered thoughtful perks, such as a complimentary massage chair coupon. Although the cloudy weather prevented us from catching the sunset or sunrise at Guangming Peak, the excellent experience at the hotel convinced us to return this fall to try again. ⸻ What I Enjoyed: 1. A cozy coffee shop with around 10 tables in the lobby — perfect for relaxing with my son after dinner. 2. Snickers bars and Korean Choco Pies from a small self-service snack corner in the lobby. 3. Thoughtful in-room extras beyond standard amenities: two umbrellas, thermal jackets, and a foot bath bucket — great for unwinding after hiking. 4. Tasty fast food just 50 meters from the hotel — two hamburgers, three chicken wings, and crispy fries from nearby snack booths. These paired perfectly with two cold cans of refreshing Qingdao beer from the coffee shop fridge. 5. Guangming Peak — around 1,800 meters above sea level and only 500 meters from the hotel. The uphill stone steps took me 15–20 minutes to climb. 6. Xihai Cable Car Station — located about 15 minutes on foot from the hotel, offering another scenic way to explore the mountain.

We had a great stay at this hotel. We don't speak Chinese well but the check-in process was very smooth and all the staff were very friendly. The room was very cosy and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location of the hotel was also great for doing small walks to see the sunrise and sunset. Special thanks to 小叶 for making our trip extra pleasant by taking us to our rooms, showing us how to use all the amenities and even sharing some locals snacks with us. This little attention was very much appreciated and made our stay perfect!

Awesome experience at Bai Yun hotel with the main coordinator 纪洁 going many extra miles to ensure our stay is comfortable and enjoyable. It made us feel very welcome. Room is pretty basic for what you paid for but it's up in the mountains, you can't really expect too much. And the good service made it up. Kudos to the hotel team for their effort in entertaining the guests!

I really recommend a stay here: * Spent two nights (2 persons) in area A. * Breakfast and dinner was good. (A lot better than the shops nearby). * Really friendly people up there offering a great service. * Room was very clean. We had everything we needed as we spent only the nights there. * There was also a small Great performance of the hotel stuff in the evening. * Got a morning coffee when we left in the morning at 7:15 a.m. Our way up (hike): * Huangshan north railway station 11 a.m., took the bus there to Tankou transportation hub. * Stored luggage there in the second shop row on the right (1st shop, recommend this, no losses). * From there to Ciguang Pavilion by bus from transport hub. Don't get off at the ropeway (like all people) if you want to hike, stay in the bus for the next station up. * We needed 5 hours to the hotel with great views of the area. Arrived there at 5:30 p.m. Down to Huangshan north railway station: * 2 hours 45 minutes from the hotel. * Caught the busses directly.

Bai Yun is an excellent hotel in a great central location for a few days exploring the stunning Huangshan Mountains. The room was clean and cosy and the cafe near reception was a nice place to sit for a coffee and evening beer. Ye Hefei at reception was very helpful, she shared her WeChat and looked after us throughout our stay including helping us choose walking routes, ordering dinner, sunset and sunrise times and viewing spots and fresh coffee on departure! She also gave us some local snacks and fruit in the evening. Overall an great experience, highly recommended!

Excellent hotel service. Complimentary Costa Coffee upon departure. Free welcome fruit basket. The hotel kept us up to date with weather, sunrise times, best peaks for viewing. The service was very comprehensive! Highly recommended!
