Thompson Houston, Part of Hyatt

It was an amazing experience (luxury, clean lines, modern styling) and will definitely return, but could only give 4 stars: the bed was hard & felt stiff on waking, the high individual charges for small items in room ($10 soda in minibar, $10 chips), forced 20% gratuity on room service and lack of mirror treatment on the bathroom windows (we couldn't enjoy the city view).

The rooms and service were second to none. From the complimentary water bottle at check-in to the views of the Houston city-scape, my experience at the Thompson Houston was unforgetable.

Very nice hotel. Nice amenities pool was great. Monica at the pool was very nice. Came here for a staycation. The Hyatt redemption reward was legit and massive value. Can’t beat the Thompson point redemptions. The rooms are very nice. They have cabanas that are open seating too!

The Thompson is a beautiful new hotel in Houston near downtown. The staff are so kind and accommodating. The amenities are top notch and the pool is perfect (minus the really hot tile) Monica at the pool is so sweet and helpful. We have had the best staycation, I don’t want to leave!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere, excellent food, super comfortable rooms and friendly staff. I recommend if you are in the Houston area just for a weekend get away.

The whole experience at the hotel has been incredible. A highlight of my trip, has been the service. Incredible hospitality, but especially the service of Monica and Iliana. Monica has been attentive, and has offered refreshments and assistance as needed poolside. She’s wonderful and has made my experience a great one.

My girlfriend and I came to the pool after a tough week. Monica was FANTASTIC. She made sure we were well taken care of and had everything we needed. The pool staff was really friendly. The pool was not crowded so the afternoon was a very pleasurable experience.

I have young kids and the hotel was very accommodating! Our family will definitely be back! The staff is all very friendly. Definitely one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had to date!

This is an absolutely gorgeous property! I actually stumbled upon this property after an initial plan to stay at another Hyatt property. For many reasons I ended up leaving that property immediately after check in and proceeded to this gem. The service is top notch and definitely ranks as some of the best service experienced during domestic travel. The front desk team was probably some of the most helpful and genuinely nice staff that I have encountered. Tiffany was amazingly understanding at checkin when I explained the situation to her at the other property and was extremely accommodating when she did not have to be. At checkout, Kaneshia ensured that everything was in order and answered all of my questions regarding some charges that she assured me would be removed (and they were). Sol 7 (the restaurant) was also great! After only having one meal there I was greeted the next day with a smile and by name. Amazing customer service all around! The room was impeccably clean and very modern with great amenities. The roof top pool was awesome and the gym facility allows for a pretty decent workout. I am a Hyatt globalist member and their benefits generally include late checkout, breakfast at Sol 7, an upgraded room if available, and early check in if available. I received all of these benefits. I cannot wait until my next trip to the area as I already know where I will be staying!
