This hotel should stop taking bookings now. Everything is grubby and falling to bits. Some of the staff try hard but on our latest( and most definitely last visit) our room had not been cleaned and the receptionist had to change the bed himself.

The hotel is very basic and jaded Not like other Premier inns we have stayed in. Breakfast next door was a disaster. Not enough staff, waited10 mins to place order, hot water machine not working, waited 10 minutes for this to be brought after asking twice, many items not available, seats dirty and torn. No plates for toast but at least the toaster worked. Will never stay here again!

The room was great the only thing that let if down was the badly stained duvet, and that is because it was so warm, I took the duvet out of the cover and just slept under the duvet cover and that's when i found the disgusting duvet. The front desk, were not helpful, polite or accommodating and lastly for people who have traded overseas, North of England and shrive and cannot book in, to be told there are NO toilet facilities was not useful especially if you have a bladder condition.

Booked a double wet room due to disabilities. Bathroom functional but tired. Only 1 arm chair in the room. Bed very low down. No luggage rack to store suitcases so a challenge to empty for reduced mobility guests. Breakfast was disorganised and very slow. Waited too long and food arrived barely warm. Tea and coffee area up flight of stairs challenging for mobility issues,which was not fit for purpose no cups no spoons. Went for a meal one evening the restaurant was closed due to staffing issues. Overall the transition to being hotel only restaurant is disappointing.

I have stayed in lots of Premier inns over the years. This is by far the worst Premier inn I have ever had the misfortune to stay in. Rude Staff, no air conditioning so room was red hot. But to top it off was not told by staff that had to leave car park by 12pm on day of check out. Left at 12:13pm and was given a parking charge. Avoid hotel,dreadful customer service.

Firstly we had booked the evening meal package and were told on arrival the restaurant was shut because the chef had called in sick. Very little help was offered to try and help my family find food. The rooms were unbearably hot to the point were we were unable to sleep and it was difficult to stay in there and get ready the next morning due to their heat. In the bar 4 put of the six draght drinks were not available. Only a choice of two drinks, none of them cider. Breakfast was a farce with two young girls who clearly didn't want to be there, one of which customer service was awful. At one point most of the continental aspects were low e.g juice had ran out and at the busiest point of the morning. 9am. One of the girls could be seen rolling a cigarette and the both girls disappeared. At this point the manager, who had very little presence, finally arrived and stormed around looking for her staff. We raised that we think they were outside on their break, she the bellowed at them to come back in. All in all an uncomfortable breakfast experience. To add to this my part was then challenged by one of the young girls in the hotel reception about complaining, and in a very poor tone explained to us that everyone is entitled to a break. This has certainly made me think twice about using a premier inn again.

Extremely hot room almost unbearable, tv constantly losing signal, and the restaurant ....lol...had three tables so I was asked to come back in half hour only to have to wait an hour for my food and there was still only three tables in the restaurant.. ?

Located directly opposite the train station, first impressions are of a dilapidated, run down building accessed via a pot holed driveway. My room on the top floor was extremely hot , although a fan was provided. There were no towels in the bathroom, and after letting reception know, went off into town to eat. The beef eater next door was not at all appealing. On my return found I still had no towels. Back to reception to ask again to be told that "she had been very busy helping the boys in the restaurant" Clearly short staffed but the lack of customer service was inexcusable. The buffet breakfast was very poor indeed. A couple of sad looking croissants and yogurts. There was the option of a cooked breakfast but the environment was so dingy I did not want to stay. Notices everywhere stating they are under renovation. NO signs of it when I stayed.

I never write negative reviews. But I feel people need to be warned about staying here during the summer. The room was what I can only describe as being in an oven. There is no air conditioning and there was no way to cool the room down as the windows only opened a few inches. A fan was provided which was absolutely useless. We had a baby and all three of us would drip with sweat moments after we entered the room. It got so bad that we wondered if it was even legal to keep rooms this hot and charge customers for the privilege. After the first night we were so desperate that we went to town and purchased our own fan. The difference a good fan made was amazing. We, along with a lot of other hotel guests complained but we were told there is nothing they could do and the website states there is no aircon. This is the only hotel I’ve stayed in where I’ve worried about the health and safety of my family. You wouldn’t leave anyone in a hot car, but somehow a hot hotel room reaching unbearable temperatures is fine? If you are staying in the area I advise you to book the Premier Inn town centre.

This is probably one of the worst Premier Inns we have stayed in as desperately in need of a refurbish. First the few good points and there are a few: —Lovely helpful staff —The room was very clean including bathroom - best & cleanest disabled bathroom we have experienced — Plenty of car parking — Right by the station Unfortunately there are also a few bad points: — No air-conditioning in any room other than a small fan — Very limited and poor height hanging space for clothes in the “wardrobe area”. The hanging space was too short for shirts and blouses but plenty of height above the hanging bar that would be unusable for anything else. It was particularly important to us as we were attending a wedding later in the day and needed to keep our event clothes crease-free. — the restaurant attached has good potential but not fulfilled. Very young staff that have obviously been given zero training or guidance on efficient hospitality - they were lovely but obviously had no clue, for example, on keeping breakfast items stocked up. Dinner last night was not much better- the food was edible but could have been a much better experience - Also … while there was good air-conditioning in the restaurant it was set at a *very* low level. We asked about adjusting it, a member of staff said they would adjust it but a waitress, in our hearing, said “ Leave it as it is; if they moan again then change it” — The young lady serving at the bar was really lovely but had no idea how to draw a pint of beer which is pretty basic really. - The bar/restaurant used to be a Beefeater and think the chairs in both the bar &restaurant had been there since it first opened they were in such a poor state. I do not expect 5 star accommodation at PI prices but do expect a certain standard to be reached giving reasonable value for money. Come on Premier Inn get this hotel up to your usual high standard.

The organisation of the hotel and ability not to be able to alter the booking as advised made the stay impossible and they still charged me extra to change my booking

We are regulars at Premier Inn but this one wasn’t the normal standard. Smelly room with mould in bathroom. Breakfast dreadful … very little food on continental breakfast, coffee disgusting and waited over an hour for cooked breakfast which was poor. Wouldn’t stay there again

The hotel looked tired and in need of major renovation internally and externally. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The car park was large so finding a parking spot was easy. The rooms had no air conditioning and the fan provided was totally inadequate to cool the room. The extractor fan in the bathroom was noisy. There was a small patch of black mould around the bath. The shower head had a crack on the top which sprayed onto the ceiling when used. The sink basin plug stuck and took a while to drain.
