Our welcoming hotel in Burton Upon Trent has recently undergone a refurbishment. We are conveniently located close to the A38 which links you to Derby and Birmingham, and also situated just a short five-minute drive away from the town centre and train station.Take a canal side stroll at the nearby Barton Marina, where your children will enjoy feeding the ducks. The National Football Centre at St. George's Park is nearby, or Branston Golf and Country Club is just a short drive away where you can enjoy a round of golf or a relaxing spa day. We are also located a short drive away from the National Memorial Arboretum. Children will love the rides at nearby Drayton Manor Theme Park which is also home to Thomas Land for the little ones, or you can enjoy a day at Alton Towers which also has CBeebies Land and Splash Landings.Our hotel has two airy, modern meeting rooms which can hold up to 50 guests for your business meetings - buffet-style lunches are available on request. Great place to stay when visiting the area. Great breakfast, helpful and friendly staff. There is a limited dinner menu consIsting oh pizza, pasta, salads and burgers. Rooms are also very clean with large comfortable beds and all newly refurbished in 2019. Parking is available on-site. There is a code to get out, which is given to guests and available from reception.

Staff friendly. Place clean. Breakfast included was limited but decent. However there was no safe or fridge in the room. Bed was bizarrely very hard. Has no Aircon for cool air - summer heatwave.

Great location for travel from the north and onward access to the Birmingham area. Clean hotel with good size rooms.

We were surprised how good this hotel was.
Very clean, helpful staff, good room, enough food for breakfast.
Shame we had to pay for parking.
A nice one night stay.

We usually enjoy holiday inn express but this one was unbearably hot, no one could sleep and no alternative was offered other than an electric fan. The air con/ comfort cool system simply did not work and we were on the 3rd floor. The breakfast was not very edible, we understand that it is an express breakfast but there was no juice only very weak squash, the coffee was undrinkable as it was so bitter and the hot food tasted horrible.

service from the night manager was excellent. he was very courteous. Also the day staff sorting the breakfast were very friendly.

Abysmal service throughout the whole stay and customer service was non existent!
Had of known I’d have gone to a hotel for half the price and been guaranteed better care and service.
Started with being being told room wasn’t ready when we arrived at the correct check in time… Havering to stand around and wait when 6 months pregnant isn’t very appropriate nor fair, no apology or explanation given. Then upon seeing the room which was smaller than a double bedroom at home (specifically booked a twin room due to pregnancy and was given a tiny room with two single beds pushed together) when I ask to change rooms was told no! No air con in a heat wave but a shoddy fan which I had to carry up stairs when they knew I was pregnant!
Then spend the night with staff laughing and smoking below our room window (we were first floor) and then the following morning woken up again by staff smoking and chatting below room window, not only unprofessional but inconsiderate!
Breakfast was terrible! Cheapest quality goods that was clearly been handled then returned by loads of kids that were staying at the hotel clearly seen by staff. Coffee was undrinkable … the whole experience was disgraceful and the fact we paid £220 for two nights is shocking !

Easy to get to and well placed for getting to the surrounding tourist spots. Hotel was clean and staff very friendly and helpful.
One down point - our room was not serviced on 1 of the days we stayed.
